Hi

So I've just started intermittent fasting.  On the days that I fast for 12 - 14 hours it's like it re-sets my body clock and I seem very active

at night when I should be asleep and find myself snacking on things.

Not sure there's going to be much benefit in that.  I wonder if anyone else had this, or ways to counteract it.  The most obvious is to eat more during my eating time, but it's hard to guage how much to eat.  If I go by appetite alone, then I just eat the same as when I'm not fasting.  In other words my body doesn't try to eat more in less time, it tries to drag out the time for eating, even if it takes me into the night.

thoughts welcome, I'm glad I've got started on this though.  I couldn't fast at all before due to the effect on my heart (causing flutters), but this seems to have calmed down now.

Just an update, it seems my body assumes that wake up time is after a meal.  So if I don't eat until 4pm, my body decides that after 4pm I'm going to be lively and then that will continue

until 4am.  *sigh*

Maybe just stick with it and see what happens.  On another note I have a urine infection.  I know it's because of the unexpected dehydration caused by going without food.  I will now try and

drink more, but there isn't any extra thirst or anything.

So it seems I must drink more without thirst, and eat more without hunger, in order to be ready for the fast.

Other experiences are welcome.  These are probably just teething issues.

I'm not planning on blogging this but just to mention Day 3 of intermittent fasting.  Today I'm aware of my heart pounding a bit here and there, I know it's to do with having less food and nothing else.  I've had one meal today and now it's nearly 11pm.  Interesting thing is I'm not hungry, even though I can feel other things related to less food, sighing here and there, other non specific things.

So, point being I don't know whether to eat another small meal tonight.  The dilemma is that I have woken up in the past with heart skips when I've attempted fasting.  Probably will play it safe and eat something.  Would love other's experiences, especially at the beginning.

Day 4 have not slept well at all, feel physiologically stressed (not mentally), I wonder if cortisol or adrenaline is at play.  (and therefore whether I'm doing this right

or whether it's good for me, not intermittent fasting today, straight into breakfast.  Not hungry, so would be easy to continue the plan, but feel 'weak'.)

Not sure why you're fasting, but I watched this video last night and the guy makes a ton of sense about fasting, HGH, and the benefits. He makes it all fit together. While you're not eating, might be fun to watch this and re-inforce what and why you're doing fasting. Cheers!
