Today's afternoon measurement was 123 over 82, so maybe this is working? I dunno. Could be a combination of this and all the other things, garlic, beetroot, flaxseed, high potassium, etc.

OK its working, just a little slowly but working. It might be having that second clip that made a difference perhaps. You could try 2 sessions a day to see if that helps any. 123/82 is just a hair over 'normal' or what they want you to shoot for. If you can keep it around those numbers you have won the game. Very likely it will come down some more but occasional days will show a spike for other reasons no doubt.

If it comes way down like say to 105/65 or even 112/70 you could cut back to once every 2 days. Get a second set of clips and do both ears at the same time boosting mood along with helping bp.

For a while there I thought maybe I found a case where it didn't work but it sounds like you have it dialed in now.

Going to try twice a day it's just not staying down enough. I also might try another method using a molding putty so that I can have the electrodes touching the chonca where they do it in most of the studies, rather than the tragus. Some say the tragus is just not hitting the right spot.

twice a day will probably help more than once. Your case seems to be a hard head type but at least you are making progress

Grapefruit juice enhances the systolic blood pressure-lowering effects of dietary nitrate-containing beetroot juice.

Br J Clin Pharmacol. 2020 Jun 10. doi: 10.1111/bcp.14420. Online ahead of print.
PMID: 32520418

Abstract
Introduction: Dietary nitrate from sources such as beetroot juice lowers blood pressure (BP) via the nitrate-nitrite-nitric oxide (NO) pathway. However, NO and nitrite are inactivated via re-oxidation to nitrate, potentially limiting their activity. Cytochrome P450-3A4 inhibition with troleandomycin prevents nitrite re-oxidation to nitrate in rodent liver. Grapefruit juice contains the CYP3A4 inhibitor furanocoumarin. We therefore hypothesized that grapefruit juice would enhance BP-lowering with beetroot juice by maintaining circulating [nitrite].
Methods: We performed a randomized, placebo-controlled, 7-hour crossover study in 11 healthy volunteers, attending on 3 occasions, receiving: a 70ml-shot of active beetroot juice (Beet-It®) and either (i) 250 ml grapefruit juice ("Active Beet+GFJ"), or (ii) 250 ml water (Buxton®, "Active Beet+H2 O"); or (iii) Placebo Beet+GFJ.
Results: The addition of grapefruit juice to active beetroot juice lowered systolic BP (SBP): Active Beet+GFJ versus Active Beet+H2 O (P=0.02), and pulse pressure, PP (P=0.0003). Peak mean differences in SBP and PP were seen at T=5 hours: -3.3mmHg (95% CI -6.43 to -0.15) and at T=2.5 hours: -4.2 mmHg (95% CI -0.3 to -8.2), respectively. Contrary to the hypothesis, plasma [nitrite] was lower with Active Beet+GFJ versus Active Beet+H2 O (P=0.006), as was salivary nitrite production (P=0.002) and saliva volume (-0.34 ml/min (95% CI -0.05 to -0.68)). The taste score of Beet+GFJ was 1.4/10 points higher than Beet+H2 O (P=0.03).
Conclusions: Grapefruit juice enhanced beetroot juice's effect on lowering SBP and PP despite decreasing plasma [nitrite]. Besides suggesting more complex mechanisms, there is potential for maximising the clinical benefit of dietary nitrate and targeting isolated systolic hypertension.

Any more reports on the electrostim method?

I'm curious to see others responses to this type of therapy.

I've finished my design for a device which will work far better than hooking to the tragus by touching the anode to the concha. I've also got a kludgy set up that does the same thing. My device will initially use a tens unit that can be plugged into the ear piece but it'll ultimately use its own battery power with a circuit set to deliver 20hz at 100 microsecond bursts. I am hopeful that this pans out because I may sell it once I perfect it.

It does improve mood but testing as to whether it lowers blood pressure is not easy to do with the kludgy version I have right now which is meant for the left ear. The design I did in a cad app is for both ears.

Ok, thanks. I have an electrostim/TENS machine. I might try that, if I can get some sort of ear attachment that contacts the correct points in the ear.

Otherwise, hurry up and start selling your design!

Hey Nate - just wondering how the TENs unit worked for your blood pressure? am wanting to try it for a friend but want to see how successful it was with you. Thanks
