Thanks to the Longecity community, I know now that Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid are ingredients to take in consideration when formulating or investigating about some skin care products.

I also have seen that there are usually two schools, people looking for branded product recommendations and others looking for advices for homemade preparations.

The skin care branded products that contains Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid most often mentioned in the posts here are:

  • Cerave Mosturizer and Cerave Foam Cleanser

Living in Europe, buying this product is easy and cheap

However, by looking at the ingredient description, these two ingredients are at the end of the list, and it is not possible to know the actual concentration.

With the hope of increasing and controlling the concentration of ceramides and hyaluronic acid, would that make sense to add such powders directly to the Cerave products ?

I was thinking purchasing such powders on this web site:

But it is in the US, is there any other provider in Europe (Italy, Spain), that sell Ceramides powder ?

I would like to add a question to the initial topic

I went through that article :

Skin Filling and Firming Activity of a Hyaluronic Acid Inducing Synthetic Tripeptide

https://link.springe...989-019-09827-1

But on the other side, I am a bit confused with discussions that i have seen here.

On one side, you got people talking about absorption to the different skin layers and up to crossing the skin barrier using for example DMSO.

On the other side, you got others that says that you have to go for HA fillers if you want to go deeper.

In other words,

why there is no way to avoid going to a lab for having HA in the deeper skin layers ?

why can't we use the proper dosage of absorption enhancers (DMSO or something else...) to reach the exact depth we want to reach ?

Is it impossible today to fine tune this process ?

Is it because we do not have cheap technology (remote sensors) on the market that can actually collect data that can help to track & monitor what goes through our body & skin ?

I mean cheap, because obviously some labs can nowadays track living cells, and so, maybe an approach to speed up innovation would be to democratize (to develop cheaper solutions for) that data collection capability.

Any thought ?
