Hi I m a 19 yo male, I underwent methotrexate chemotherapy to treat b-cell lymphoma at age 14, the heavy antifolate acids on my pediatric brain left me with huge cognitive impairment that downgraded from a 2 std above average child to a mediocre student. Based on my literature, I learned that I am basically unable to myelinate properly which makes learning, memorizing and articulating abstract ideas a lot harder that it used to be before my chemo, I am drastically vulnerable to stress now that it hinders my student life, whereas i performed extremely well under pressure post-cancer.
what can i do to restore my baseline or at least to decelerate my cognitive degeneration ?

For myelination, try lion's mane and willow bracket mushrooms.

Supplements: DHA, folate, B12, uridine, choline.

More experimental compounds: NSI-189 promotes neurogenesis; Compound 7P (CAS1890208-58-8) promotes neurite (axon and dendrite) outgrowth.

Insofar as methotrexate can cause extensive mitochondrial damage, there is a protocol you can use to get rid of damaged mitochondrial and replace them in an iterative fashion with cycles of mito fission and fusion. See this post for a protocol. To specifically target the brain, stearic acid cannot be used for fusion as it does not cross the BBB. Sulforaphane (from broccoli concentrate) can be used instead of (or in addition to) stearic acid.
