Restarting NR. Who's the best supplier these days and where is the best deal?

Welcome to 2020. There are no deals anymore. There is only one source...the manufacturer, Chromadex. Available at their "TruNiagen" website.

I do the 6 month subscription, which gets the price semi-reasonable. Oh for those heady days of discounts everywhere!

I thought that was going to be the case.

I might have to look at NMN again. Less data but I'm not getting the impression that there's not a great deal of difference in the effect.

Here's hoping that someone comes up with a synthesis route that's even cheaper than Chromadex's.

There is one alternative to Niagen besides NMN, this... there was a legal thing going on and Elysium  now uses whatever NR-E is. Don't know how they get around Chromadex patents and does not look cheaper.

Chromadex has a patent on a synthesis route for the chloride salt of NR. The only known low cost synthesis route I believe.  So I'm guessing this isn't nicotinamide riboside chloride. My understanding is that NR itself is not stable. Maybe "Crystalline Nicotinamide Riboside" is. Or maybe it's some other salt of NR (bromide? phosphate?).

In any case, if it's not cheaper it's only of academic interest to me.

ETA: I did see that Eylsium has a patent filed for an alternate synthesis route for NR Chloride.  So maybe it is the same chloride salt of NR as Niagen produced through a different route and "Cyrstalline Nicotinamide Riboside" is just some marketing thing.

There is litigation pending between Elysium and Chromadex. West coast case involves allegations by ChromaDex the Elysium acquired proprietary information and used it to unfairly compete with Chromadex. The east coast litigation is about Elysium infringing the patents that Chromadex has the license to use, or actually owns.

I would think alivebynatures lipsomal tech wouldnt require the chloride?  Their NAD+ Gel is about the same price as NR.

Weird they are letting LEF undersell them on their own product by so much, maybe the product expiration is getting close.

I like how Thorne sells it with TMG, Resveratrol, and Quercetin, nothing close to LEF's price though.

Looks like LEF's bottle of 30 x 300mg = $40.50 ($1.35 per capsule) while Chromadex sells 2 bottles of 90 x 300mg for $180 ($1.00 per capsule) which would be the equivalent of $30 per 30 count from Chromadex....a savings of $10.50 (per 30 count bottle) from Chromadex or savings of $63 for the Chromadex 180 count deal.

Thanks Hebbeh, $18 a month was too good to be true, only for the 100mg capsules.
