Now that the elections are over Bill Ayers (domestic terrorist of Underground Weathermen fame) is hitting the talk show circuit talking up a new edition of his book. This book has a new afterwords in which he writes of Obama:

"[W]e had served together on the board of a foundation, knew one another as neighbors and family friends, held an initial fund-raiser at my house, where I'd made a small donation to his earliest political campaign."

As some of us suspected, the relationship between Obama and Ayers obviously goes quite a bit deeper than just "some guy who lives in my neighborhood." I'm not saying that Obama's friendship with Ayers makes Obama a bad guy, but any honest person must admit that it is a little strange to have as Commander in Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces a man who apparently in fact really was "paling around" with a domestic terrorist who sought the violent overthrow of the U.S. government. As Professor Obama this probably wouldn't be a problem (might even be seen as a plus), but as President Obama it is going to make a lot of people, at the very least, feel a bit uncomfortable. As a second point, it should be noted that Ayers confirms that Obama did indeed hold an initial fundraiser at Ayers house for his Illinois state senate run - this was somethig that was raised during the 3rd presidential debate and Obama explicity denied it. Apparently Obama was not being truthful on this point.
