As a member, I don't see ads on this site. It looks like the pages are rendered differently for members than non members. I'd suggest just replacing the ads with either a static placeholder saying something to the effect that "Ads have been removed" or use the space to promote features of our site.

As leader of LC always have memberships, we also tend to be disconnected from our advertising schema and might not be seeing ways to improve it or how site changes might be lowering advertising revenue.

Members like not seeing the ads. It is a benefit they pay for.

That being said, it is not a bad idea for leadership to see the ads, for the reasons you mentioned, to be more connected with the "feel" of the site. However, this can be done by logging out once in a while and investigating the current look for non-members, which I do.

You may want to whitelist the site in Adblocker/Pro etc too.
It may even be an idea to post a howto on whitelisting the site in Ad-blockers.

(How many TY points is that worth?! :)  )

Also one might contact the software developers and ask to be whitelisted as you rely on this income and I have noticed a sharp drop in site worth in Adsense..

I'll give you 25 TY points to write a blog article on it with screen shots. 40 if you include screenshots from IE, FF, Chrome, and Safari (if possible).
