" Supraphysiological levels of GDF11 induce striated muscle atrophy"

http://embomolmed.em.../emmm.201607231

"These data indicate that bioactive GDF11 at supraphysiological levels cause wasting of both skeletal and cardiac muscle.

Rather than a therapeutic agent, GDF11 should be viewed as a potential deleterious biomarker in muscle wasting diseases."

Possibly, but while this might be true, can anyone here assess at what limit the studied "supraphysiological levels" that are dangerous for atrophy occur? For example, Paracetamol can be deadly at certain "supraphysiological levels" but the FDA authorizes its over the counter sale. Such a vague term doesn't instruct us as to the dosage levels of GDF-11 at which we must exercise care. TIA.
