I found this interesting. I emailed UltraCur and asked the reasoning for the way protein in there Supplement and also asked if it’s recommended to add bioperine as most curcumin supplements add it for absorption and here was their response.
Why is the whey added to the UltraCur? I see it helps absorption but why? What’s the mechanism/reasoning? Thanks
Our technology utilizes protein as a scaffold to help the curcumin absorb into your body. Think of it like a bus that is helping the body transport individual curcumin molecules into your circulation.
We use why protein because it's the fastest absorbing protein that is natural and well tolerated.
Is there any need to take bioperine with it? It seems like most curcumin supplements contain bioperine for optimal absorption.
Piperine / Black pepper actually does nothing to help absorption.
Piperine slows down the metabolism of the curcumin molecules that manage to get absorbed. This metabolic effect also affects a wide array of pharmaceutical products. Because its an artificial modification of the liver we don’t recommend using it. Also, more importantly, we don’t need it. Most people report a significant response with UltraCur within a week, half of those with in 24 hours.
Our recommendation is 2 capsules twice a day for optimal benefit.
