Clenbuterol increases NGF / other neurotrophins ?

There are several studies showing that clenbuterol, like adrenaline, will increase neurotrophin production and I made a thread about this a while back.

So I tried it both orally and intranasally.

Both orally and intranasally I do not feel any neurotrophic effects, nothing that would make me think that NGF is increased?

Some other users have said they experienced neurotrophic effects from it

Can it even absorb intranasally? Not sure if everything can. What was your dosage?

Yes it absorbs intranasally fine. Dosage was 40mcg.

If they tried in rats 0.01–0.5 mg/kg, wouldn’t that be around 0.08mg-4mg total dosage for 80kg person? There is a rat to human dosage conversion thread somewhere in this forum

I tried 80mcg orally today. Still no apparent neurotrophic effect although my heart and muscles are a bit affected. I do not like this dosage but I guess I could manage to still increase it to 100mcg or 120mcg.

I think tomorrow I will try 80mcg intranasally but I hate to do it because I am essentially putting crushed tablets in my nose (via nasal spray) which is not ideal.

I do not like to use DMSO anymore for intranasal due to fear of neurotoxicity from DMSO.

Yep. Even the lowest dose used in this study would cause uncomfortable cardiovascular effects for most.

Also, I think such studies may only be relevant for ischemic situations where NGF and other repair mechanisms are triggered by the injury. Without the injury do we know if these systems are upregulated?
