Sven asked about what dates would work. Here is my reply:

SENS4 is Thursday Sept. 3rd through Monday Sept. 7th. I think the best time for the concert would be the weekend before SENS4. August 29th or August 30th. I just think this would be the best time because many other Imminst members will be coming to Europe or traveling to Cambridge around that time. Anyway, I could make it in late August. I think a concert on Sat August 29th and an Imminst meeting/conference on Sunday August 30th would be good. Please ask the others involved what they think about it as well. There might be a different time in the summer that works better for most people.

I think that we all agree to organize the concert in Brussels? To do this we need help from the Bureau voor de Grote Evenementen (Bureau for big events), an organization from the city council of Brussels who is responsible for helping people with the organization of events in Brussels. I will try to contact them tomorrow. I hope to learn more about the way that we need to follow to organize this event (the kinds of permissions that are needed, the security, the law about noise pollution, the places where we can organize this concert,...).

How much do you think this will cost what do you all think about imminst supporting this financially? It could make world news.

At this moment I still have no clue about the costs. It will depend on the music groups and the costs for the grassland (stadium), lights, music equipment, stage,...
Of course, it would be great if Imminst would support it financially.
I hope to make at least 10.000 euro (13.617 US$) profit from the concert and donate this to lysoSENS research.

to summarize the current orientation: August 29th - Brussels - European Anti-Aging Concert
Its organization is actively taking place here: http://longecity.com/concert
Anyone with concert experience to help us organize it?

Hi all,

Concerning the coast for a room i start to browse on the net and found that:

Claridge
auderghem

And we still have to inquiry in here:

- concertandco
- Pages jaunes belges

Basically i estimate 3 bands are enough + 2 locals who are cheaper AND they could get the uporunity to play with most famous.
A short concert of 2 hours but before the concert a presentation "grand publique" for an understanding of a max of guests.

If you really want to sell T-Shirt: Ok but through the web to have an idea of who can buy them, how much they are ready to spend for.
WE NEED A SIMPLE LOGO. Actually i am quite agree with Ben-aus in a sens we need something good to be rerpoduce in quantity and easily.

I tried to do also a thing......

http://upload.mezima...ert_-_Copie.jpg

Aus i also wait for your ;)

I was about to forget the and of august you have rock en seine.... don't fix a date close to a week end like that but a friday (?)

2 hours??? If we start at 8pm then I will be happy if everybody is out before 3am :p .
I would do the presentation in between the concert and just play a pre recorded powerpoint presentation before the concert (while people are getting in).
I would do it outside and away from the city to prevent noise pollution. August is the perfect time to have an outside concert.
It's not the Methuselah Foundation but Heales who is organizing the concert.

I think that we should change the date of the concert to somewhere in July because:

1) A lot of music groups are already reserved for August, so I hope to have more luck in July.
2) We can do the Imminst congress close to the SENS4 congress (easier for Mind) without the problem of having to organize two things at the same time.
3) University and high school students can have re-examinations in August.
4) The concert can be used to promote the Imminst congress.

Progress:

- Music groups: The Russian Deathray, Offhanded, The Kaiser Chiefs, Absynthe Minded,...
- Dinks and food: we need to hire an apparatus for beer; buy barrels of beer; buy cola, water, fruit juice, sprite,...; I would also see if we can find someone who sells French fries, he could sell them on our festival and in return he would need to pay us for it.
- We should ask the red cross to place a first aid post on the festival.
- We should look into the regulations that need to be obeyed and permissions that we need.
- We should hire a stage, music and light equipment and a music technician.

I have tried to make a logo too. it's simple :)
I used one color: black (background is transparent)
I think this is suitable for on a t-shirt

nice logo, easy to produce on t-shirts!
- could we make the "life extension" message more appearent?
e.g. with sound making waves that look like survival curves (there might be better ideas)
- the neck of the guitar looks a bit long to me (i might be wrong)
- i think Ben-Aus had another idea of logo?

The neck of the guitar has the right size. It's a silhouette of a real guitar. ;) (picture then)
What do you mean with making the "life extension" message more appearent?
I am waiting for Ben-Aus his logo too :)

i didn't know ;)

What do you mean with making the "life extension" message more appearent?

the reason for the concert is not so much the concert,
it is more the communication about the probable "healthy life extension" (HEALE Society)
It would be nice if the logo displayed something about it.
Another possibility could be to have "HEALTHY LIFE EXTENSION" written many times (either horizontally or in music waves) on the T-shirts as well

I am waiting for Ben-Aus his logo too :)

yes, he told me he is making one

Hi,

Regading the bands coming, we apparently don't have yet any confirmation.
May i suggest to propose local bands ? One of you talked about a friend who is a DJ. any others ?
Fighting aging is not "in fashion" so it is not easy to convince famous bands to come, being paid a few/nothing for a project without media attention.

Plus some bands could use this event as a "springboard" (?). What do you think ?

Hello

Team William has already confirmed. I'm still looking for more bands. Local bands are good (they are cheaper) but they don't attract the amount of public that better known bands do. We don't have a DJ yet, so that would be welcome. Well known bands are not willing to play for free (I had one who asked 15.000 euro ;)). Our festival could certainly be a springboard for younger bands. For example, I invited The Russian Deathray, if they come then our festival would be their first big performance. If they get famous then we would be viewed as their discoverers and that's free publicity for us :~
