Just wanted to say that was a beautiful post, Maxwatt. I agree with you completely on all points. We are here to help each other out, solve the occasional problems some people run into, and work together to increase the quality of life for everyone here. Biology is incredibly complex, and different people are bound to have different benefit curves than others; if we are ever going to figure out the general optimal dosage ranges, combinations, and whatnot, we need to help one another, not fight.

I agree that we should all work together. (And just for the record, without trying to be redundent, I don't really care what company makes the best product out there that actually works. I really don't care! Honestly!) I came to these forums in search of finding something about Reveratrol besides it's name. I am looking for people to report their own experiences trying different brands at different strengths and dosages that may not only contain Resveratrol as the only helpful ingredient. Please keep in mind, that most everyone learns in or outside of this forum, that Resveratrol is experimental in humans. Therefore, all I am looking for is a reasonable Starting point! A starting point that hopefully is supported by other members. After that, I can judge for myself how I feel on that particular starting brand and dosage.

However, instead, I come to this forum and what I see is not much more than what seems like a marketing power struggle. It feels like I am in a room with people of several religions and each person that represents a different form of religion that uses the same Bible, is telling me that they believe differently (even if the difference is small) because they are interpreting the exact words in the same Bible a different way. I didn't mean to get religious, it is just a great example!

Anyway, I came to this forum and I hear of people working up to 1-2 or more grams of Resveratrol a day. I understand they may have started with 500mg, but that seemed a bit extreme for a starting point. Then I read more about Resveratrol dosage and I find out that large amounts are not good for you after all. Next I hear that 100mg is not enough, but 250mg is good. I also hear that no pill form is good because you have to take a liquid form for proper absorbtion. And many people seem to have some sort of data or article to back them up! Therefore, instead of going crazy with this, I would love to find a forum (I am currently looking) that doesn't fight about what company makes the best brand and recommends what they feel is a good dosage. I need a forum that does NOT restrict it's members to talk about different brands and dosages. That is how we are all going to learn about Resveratrol and other supplements surrounding it. The old Trial and Error.

Once again, you pick a sensible Starting point based on the actual mice experiment. After that, forum people involved their mini clincal trials will report on their effects. And, as our research continues, along with the research of professionals that actually know what they are doing, new Factual evidence will come out that will cause us to possibly change our brand and or dosage. Personally, I am trying come up with a product that has more than just Resveratrol as the beneficial ingredient for my starting point. This only makes sense. But some of the suggestions that I am getting involve some ingredients that may cause unwanted side effects, some that require taking another supplement to combat the side effect. That right there throws up a Red Flag for me. In my mind, I would like to think that if something is proclaimed to be Good for my body (let's say like vitamin D-3), I would hope that I would not have to take another supplement to stop a possible side effect of vitamin D-3.

I hope most everyone sees my point.

Can we do this forum without fighting a bias opinions toward one product? As someone else said, brands need to be mentioned for this experimentation to work. Otherwise, I suggest that the people who are in this forum to actual learn some Factual information that cannot be contradicted about Resveratrol and other supporting supplements, let's find a different forum where we can accomplish that so that we can take full advantage and benefit from these potential miracle supplements.

I've been a lurker on these forums for a while. I have my own regimen that took me a year to develop and has been refined for more than 3 years. Resveratrol was added about a year ago, and has gone through a few modifications itself, from Brand and purity to including complementary supplements to make it more bioavailable. I will not detail what product I use.

Putting the usually marketing is the cause reasons aside. I think this forum is about Resveratrol and what supplements or actions we can take to make it more bioavailable. If the usage of PEG improved Resveratrols absorbtion I would like to hear about it and find proper dosage based on data cited.

What I don't want to hear is how many genes are activated by product x. That should go into the supplements or even regimens forums. If a product is presented that is primarily resvetratrol but includes 2, 20, or 200 additional supplements that help boost resveratrols potency, or bioavailabity I would love ot hear about it but I want to see data. It needs to be scrutinized down to the per complementary supplement reason why it affects resveratrol directly with citations, cant stress that enough.

If it is presented in such a way that product X is great because it has resveratrol in it and does all these other amzing things like give you xray vision, or cures your cancer, I want to know what impact Resveratrol contributes if any to those claims.

That is my 2 cents if it matters. I'm just getting sick or all the conspiracy and disparaging remarks back and forth.
