You get 10% off their b-stock items. The refurbished 9800GX2 looks quite attractive at $180 after the 10% discount.
Again, I would be able to ship those overseas if requested. shipping cost is about $30 for overseas.

Also, you can earn up to $100 good toward eVGA stores.

Some of us top folders have the ability to achieve a substantial amount of points in the short run.

I would be willing to switch my machines over if it means people would spend the $100 to buy GPUs to fold for our team!
But, I will only do it for trusted members, not for anyone that tries to be a smartxxx.

What do ya'll think?

That's an excellent inititative. Too bad it's not in the UK but then I'm all set anyway ;-)

If Anyone was thinking of making an upgrade, now would be a good time!

I'd be willing to join evga to get their coupon and spend the $100 on GPU. If there's no 5th quarter TLM run, I'd try to gain their 100 eVGA bucks to recoup costs with them. each evga buck is worht 1 USD right?

chungenhung if you switch your old rig over (or simply an adopting/borrowing plan), I'll upgrade it with GPUs and run it exclusively for us

Are you asking me to run under your name to help you boost your points to 1,000,000 in order to earn the maximum $100?

Since there is not going to be any more prices for this team, I guess we can try get some free GPUs to give out, to keep the competition alive.

That would be a good idea (thank you if you do run a rig under my name to help me get evga quicker). If I try to run it myself, I wont hit 1,000,000 milestone for at least ~2 months. After I get the max, I'll be for TLM (32461) exclusively again

You said their " 9800GX2 looks quite attractive at $180" , I can use $80 of my own $ to get it. I may take their 10% Discounts and get other stuff (used in future for 32461) more power to us

Let me know if you can switch one over Temporarily. Then I'll set up account w/ eVGA.

My rough calculation of the cost to run GPU to achieve the 1,000,000 points. Based on recent workunits on a nVidia 8800GT.
1,000,000 / 3500 PPD = 286 Days

Assuming 100 Watts for one card.
100 Watts / 1000 x 24 hrs = 2.4KWh per day.
2.4KWh x 286 Days = 686.4 KWh

Using 10 cents energy cost per KWh, we have
686.4 KWh x 0.10 = $68.64

So, I would say it is kind of worth it.

Well, actually 2 months isn't too long. It is still well before eVGA's time frame when they hand out the certificates.
I am going to switch mine over to get up to 1 million points. My calculation shows 20 days.
The 10% discount and the $100 certificate probably won't stack.

On 2nd thought, 2 mo. isn't long. I can wait to get to the milestone myself, just didn't want to risk the chance of stuck in the quagmire there a few months and losing folding op to help our own team.

20 days only apply to your super-farm of rigs. I know there's electricity cost, but if after you get yours and you can help me get myself to 1,000,000 pt. I can pay those points back to you by running one of my rig under your name for as long as needed.

I have switched mine over. Remind me when 20 days comes around. Or you can check my stats for eVGA team. I am afraid I might forget it and leave it there for too long.

The EVGA team welcomes all folders. Any and all members of this team are welcome to join. We are a friendly bunch (usually). And we are very active and growing. We have noticed you, chungenhung. Come to the forum and say hello. We don't bite. :)

As Cranny Stated above, stop in if you haven't and post away. We also have some good guides and a lot of helpful members that really don't care what team you fold on as long as you fold. :) Of course, we'd all love it if you guys joined up and folded for the team, but we also understand team dedication as we have a very dedicated base of members.

I'd also like to thank Chung for joining and showing up in my Radar as a threat as it got me to this site. Just from the few things I've read and the Trailer I watched, I'm very interested in a lot of what the site has to say. Immortality really isn't my goal, but being 44 and already having been through 2 Heart Attacks and CHF, I'm looking for ways to improve my QOL.

Anyway, come on by, say hello and fold away.....

BTW, Chung. From my understanding, the 100 EVGA bucks and 10% do stack, but the 10% is for B-Stock only.

I gathered that from this thread. But ultimately it is not who you fold for, or the points you get, or your teams rank that counts. Just fold and the work gets done. Those who fold for anonymous are just as important as those who are competetive and on a team.
Have you guys looked at the Atlas Folder page? He is pretty dedicated.
Also, not that you guys need it, but if you do have any questions, we would be happy to help out. Just post a note on our forum with a question. It matters not which team you are on. We help all equally.
Keep up the good work.

master chung, can you help me get to $100 evga buck? I can pay the pts back to you, after I use 100 e- bucks to get GPU . if yes, I'll start other rigs again, we can reach 1 Mil pt fast. You're already #1 folder for our team.

anything special you needed to do besides registering and hit 1 million to get evga bucks? needed accounts with evga so they can deposit $? or is it coupon?

you need to register with eVGA folding at home forum, see the original post.
Then, you need to email webmaster@evga.com and tell them your F@H username, which the webmaster will put it in your account for you.
Once you hit the 1million point as per EOC stats page, email them again with the prove.
The $100 is like a coupon, no need to do other things. It will appear in your evga account.

Thx. It'll take me 1-2 months. But I'll take and use the 100 bucks, for eventual TLM folding

I would like to ask a favor of you guys. The EVGA bucks are a good deal and they come with no obligation, but>>>

Team EVGA is about to start on their first entrance into the Chimp Challenge. It is a fun competition and the winner among the 10 teams invited to participate is simply bragging rights, and the ability to display the Jaded Chimp.

we appreciate any and all folders, but if any of you who are thinking about the bucks is so inclined, now would be a good time to help us out in trying to get the Jaded Chimp and win the Chimp Challenge.

Just visit the EVGA Folding forum to get details about how to help out. There is no obligation to make a permanent change in team membership, and no obligation even to help us out. But there would be numerous thanks to you if you did.

Thanks for considering it, and thanks to Chungenhung for his million point contribution.

I'd consider helping a bit in Chimp Challenge in future, when I get better rig(s), now wont be able to earn you guys much pt

The Chimp Challenge is Top 10 team only? when our team gets there, I guess we can go as AntiAgingApes , or LongeMonkey

how'd you display Jaded Monkey?

We can display it in our sigs, and EVGA wants to display it on their pages as well.
Again, it is just bragging rights, but it is also team pride. As you know the pride thing and competition keep a lot of folks folding. So it helps in the cause to keep it interesting for the young kids who are into the winning thing.

One thing I can do to make it more interesting for you guys is to throw in a 9600 GT as a 'prize' to a random Longevity folder who folds for the EVGA team for the course of the Chimp Challenge.
If there are 10 of you guys who let me know you will participate, and then put your rigs over to the EVGApes, team 111065 for the duration of the challenge, I can do a random drawing from the group of people from your team and send the lucky drawing winner a used, but still quite functional EVGA 9600 GT in box with the accessories that came with it. I had to pull it from my i7 rig. I tried to get it folding with a GTX 280 until I finally figured out they don't play well together.

There is about exactly 10 active folders on this forum. http://folding.extre...a...?s=&t=32461
All the others are just random people folding at less than 5000PPD.

I was hoping to get as many as I could to help out. But I will take what I can get. Chungenhung, you can obviously produce quite a few points. From the EOC page it looks like you have about 6 guys who produce over 10,000 PPD. If 4 or 5 switch over I would still offer the 9600 GT.
Let me know.
