Feynman showed mathematically positron particles are electrons traveling backwards in time, I recall. There are all kinds of mathematical tricks in physics. When I studied solid state physics my professor showed the class how mass can have a negative sign... Negative mass.

There is no evidence of time travel in reverse. You can slow time and theoretically stop time by falling into a black hole.

If there is evidence of time reversal, I would like to know what it is. Perhaps if the universe collapses on itself that may be time reversal...

Interesting subject and wish there was more work on "time".

well, from my layman perspective, time is change -- i.e. to assess that time has passed one has to observe some change, and for a change to occur energy must be 'spent' or transformed. In this sense, time is very closely related to energy. In a closed system, while nothing changes within, its time stands still. And, if the system reverts to its prior state, in this context, it could be said that it went back in time.

And so I'm guessing that in the nature paper Lazarus posted (which buzzed way over my head) they made their experimental system revert back to its prior state (-?).

But then one immediately thinks of a primitive system, 0,1,0,1,... tick-tack. It has only two states and so its time can go only from 0 to 1 and then it starts all over. Yet another component is required to keep the count of the ticks. Otherwise, from the POV of this simple system its time can last only one tick.

From the POV outside of this primitive system, one can count the ticks and observe that after each tack it reverts to its prior state and so sorta goes 'back in time'. But it is its time it went back in. It did not go back in time to which the outside observer belongs (coz his counter of ticks keeps on growing).

I think we all feel intuitively that this sort of 'picosecond-long' reversals of time are meaningful only within equally tiny scales and that, alas, no matter how many such time reversals we could try to accumulate, they will still amount to the same picosecond.

Coz, mainly, I don't believe they can add up, meaning that tick+tick+tick+..+tick will still equal one tick -- because the time reversal takes place within that primitive system and so it must be "added up" also from within that system. But it can count only to 1.

"negative mass" -- isn't it the holy grail of that... whatchamacallit, 'field drive'? Sorta 'antigravity' thing in popular imagination. Now this I totally believe in and wish physicists and engineers would hurry up and make it happen at last. It is supposed to solve all our problems, from 'faster than light' space travel to extracting energy 'directly from space' (all by manipulating its structure).

I have no doubt that it is possible, and not just in principle but for real real, mainly based on the reports of UFO sightings -- how some of them move (at sharp angles, with unbelievable accellerations and in total silence) seemingly untouched by inertia and our 'fundamental laws' of gravity.
