Im tweaking these all as I go. They will probably also all get pictures. If anybody wants to help then go ahead. (Art Team want to think about some original pictures for this?) Contact me in skype and we can discuss tweaking of details and pulling this all together.

We can add things like the list of credit cards, shopping methods and things that Florin suggests when its done. We can launch this in mass pm and mass email as one main outlet. There is the front page and the newsletter. Then there are lots of other things we can do too. We could say, hold a drive for a week where we aim for say, 5,000 contacts made about this fund raiser page, and then ask people to give us close estimates on how many people they contact via facebook, email contact lists, general word of mouth, flyers, the internetworking team, we would tally them all up and aim for a number like 5,000 etc...

Here is my submission for the Immortality Institute general fund raiser.

Immortality Institute General Donation

Do you know why they say that the only sure things are death and taxes? Because all donations here are life saving as well as tax deductable. Its forward, free thinkers like you that make this difference. Thank you for considering making this donation.

Whether your having a hard time choosing from the Immortality Institute Fund Raisers list of ways to help progress this crucial life saving cause, you don’t have time to choose, or you just want to leave it to us, then the ImmInst General Donation option is for you.

Make your donation via this page and your contribution will go directly in to this general fund. We will use this priceless gift toward the next most pressing projects that require funds. Your gift goes a long way. Not only does it help the cause in general, it inspires more dedicated indefinite life extensionists like you to contribute. Inquire for an additional list of current and upcoming projects or see the Immortality Institute Fund Raisers main page.

The names of everybody that donates are collated and made ready for display. (name opt out included) The chance to be on this list is a small way to make a big difference in and of itself, and is something that every indefinite life extensionist can be proud of. Whether your donation is $1 or $1,000, this growing list is crucial in inspiring more of the same.

If you have any questions about the Immortality Institute General Donation, you can post them in the community forums, or by email.

Longevitymeme Folding@home team.

The Folding@home project run by Stanford University was created to study the basics of protein folding in order to better understand and cure human diseases. It is a distributed computing project where people use their home computers to complete the computations required to simulate protein folding. Many folders join teams and compete with other people from around the world. The Immortality Institute supports the Longevity Meme Team (#32641 - join today). The Immortality Institute was the first organization in the world to offer cash prizes for folding. Awards are periodically given to the top folders on the Longevity Meme team. The prizes helped vault the team into the top 100 teams in the world, develop a vibrant folding forum, and a sense of camaraderie among life extension advocates from around the world. Please consider a donation to the prize fund to keep the momentum going and send the life extension team to the top of the world rankings.

Here's a list of what an Imminst supporter could do (some require that Imminst apply for registeration):

I look forward to fully digesting the mix of scenerios that this list can help compliment and excel these fund raisers with. Im especially interested in seeing goodsearch implemented as well as possible, and Im excited about this game option. Ive been looking for a simple game we can embed and play directly from here some place to help get participation up, if we find that we can get one of these to embed, and it can make money... then the potentials are frighteningly good.

Im not satisfied with the next donation listing yet. If anybody else wants to give it a try and submit an entry for this one too then please do. In the following submission here, the Cui and Stanford sections may be taken out. The size and placement of the pictures and captions has been skewed, but you get the picture. It would be nice to have a picture of Schooler by a laser for this, but this can work. We can always tweak it. All of these submissions are subject to final cut.

Here is the submission for Immortality Institute Dedicated Research and Development Fundraiser.

Immortality Institute Dedicated Research and Development Fund Raiser

Contribute your hard earned dollars here, and they translate directly in to crucial research and development advancement.

(We are matching a minimum of the first $10,000 in donations contributed to this fund).

All of our collective effort is what is propelling the Immortality Institute forward. You can rest assured that your passionate and dedicated Board of Directors and Panel of Advisors make sure that every research project is sound and in line with the mission of Unlimited Lifespans.

Board of Directors - Panel of Advisors

The research projects we support are all key aspects in the coalescence of the puzzle pieces that are coming together to defeat aging. See a listing of more of our research work and affiliations at the linked research page. Inquire about ongoing research, planning, and development.

We have lobbied for the cutting edge research of Zheng Cui.

Dr. Zheng Cui of Wake Forest University School of
Medicine has been given a green light to begin providing
transfusions of immune system cells--called granulocytes--
to cancer patients.

This dedicated research fund is opening up the doors of opportunity for us to get more directly involved with support for the success of important research like this.

We are deeply involved with support for Stanford Universities vital Folding at Home protein simulation program. This is a ground breaking program that helps unravel the mysteries of proteins.

Your donations open up many doors in this arena as well.

We make many contributions to the SENS and Methuselah Foundations.

-helped them win $5,000 in contest for causes
-Methusalah Foundation 300 member, an ongoing donation program
-yearly grants for the SENS Foundation Academic Initiative
and more

Our first major research collaboration has been an $18,000 grant to Nason Schoolers research with the Laser Ablation of Lipofuscin, in August of 2009. This included an $8,000 matching Immortality Institute grant, with over $10,000 generated in our matching fund raiser.

Lipofuscin plays a key role in the death caused by
aging. This fund raiser has been a smashing success because
of your contributions.

The overwhelming incoming flood of support from dedicated indefinite life extensionists like you is allowing us to continue to move on toward the horizons of bigger and bigger projects.

With your support, our budding science section will become a burgeoning system of discussions, proposals, research journals, and research grants. (inquire for insight on this on going development) You are the success of critical, life saving Immortality Institute research and development work. We can not do this with out you. On behalf of a rapidly aging world, thank you.

Nice job on the research funding details Eric! I should also mention that Imminst is planning on research funding at a minimum of 2 $8,000 grants every year. Of course then we could let people know that their dedicated donations would help extend our research funding and do even more.

Thanks, Ill have to work that in there. Im glad this looks alright to you, because I was afraid it might look all wrong. Im also contemplating splitting this up in to research, and research development. What do you all think? Research development would be like providing expensive peer reviewed journals to researchers, or would researchers reading these journals be considered widely as research too? I just dont want to discourage people from giving to the research fund because they want it to go to hard science lab work and not other things like that.

I havent had time to step back as much as I would like and examine the following, but here goes, it can use feedback, and Ill check it out later. This version might work well, and as with them all, it can be continuosly tweaked as the rest of the pages develop.

Immortality Institute Volunteer Prize Drawing Fund Raiser

Prize Drawing Held Here

Volunteers are the fuel that drives this cause. Every single volunteer is a priceless commodity. Besides contributing to their respective teams, volunteers inspire more people to volunteer. This is what is taking us to the next level. If this cause is successful in our life times, and it can be, then we will literally owe our volunteers our lives.

You can view the prizes we are offering in the current months update section here. We increase the prize value over time. You can help us do this with a donation to this dedicated fundraiser.

Indefinite life extension may be only as far away now as the speed at which we go to get there. Contributing to this fundraiser is like having your hand on the throttle of this cause, you directly increase that life saving speed. You may not have very much time to help with this cause right now, but you may have the money, and that can help just as much or more.

Make your donation today and you can be sure that you are making an impact in the progress of this monumentally important, time sensitive cause. Be sure to recommend a friend or two to this fund raiser as well. On behalf of a priceless, and rapidly aging world, thank you.

If you go to post #17 in this topic, Ive been tweaking it. Its the intro page for this set of fund raiser pages. The ones in red are those that still need to be created. They need to be created in the same style/theme as the rest. All the rest of them need some feedback too, so we can tweak them maximally. If anybody wants to help, edit, give feedback, help write one of those in red etc... then let me know.

I picked: lifetime donation
let me know what you think.

After thinking about how the other membership donations would fit in I recommend the following, what do you think?

redo of the:
Membership Donation

*Donate Here"

You can become a monthly, yearly, or lifetime member for the prices of

$5 per month
$20 per year (student)
$50 per year (employed)
$500 Lifetime Member (onetime)

ImmInst relies on donations from ordinary people for the mainstay of its activities. Membership of the Institute is more than financial support: From appointing leadership, to decisions on policy and major investments in life extension projects, our Members are the ultimate decision making authority.

Monthly and yearly members are asked for a new membership donation each month and year. Lifetime members never lose their membership status, no matter if they remain out of touch or even in cryonic suspension for years (except after a fair hearing in cases of gross misconduct).

We especially encourage lifetime membership. For anyone aspiring to conquer aging, the offer of a lifetime membership is a pretty good deal. In fact, the first lifetime members who signed up when ImmInst was founded in 2001 will soon have recouped their investment.

Every single new lifetime membership is a great boon for the Institute. While ‘ordinary’ membership contributions are incredibly valuable to maintain the Institute in existence, new lifetime memberships immediately enable us to think bigger, to move ahead with new advocacy and research initiatives.

There is a lot of idle chatter on the internet – by making a firm contribution, our members stand up to be counted. Members demonstrate, in the clearest possible way, not just their support for this grass roots team effort, but for the cause of life extension in general.

Please consider joining us as a monthly, yearly, or lifetime member, if you haven't already.

If you have any questions about membership, you can post them in the community forums, or by email.

I need help rewording this. Im having a bit of brain freeze trying to write this one. Can somebody help with this using the same general theme? Also, along with this, if this one is accepted with the rest of them, then lets consider increasing the membership rates and sending a percentage of it to this fund as well.

Note: starting today January 18th we are tweaking this entry at this link: http://www.imminst.o...mp;#entry377041 Do not tweak this here, it is now undergoing changes at that link instead. All of the others here are noted on an individual basis.

Here is my submission for the Immortality Institute Member Cryonics Back Up Fund Fundraiser

*Donate Here*

The Immortality Institute can not succeed in this cause with out its members. As members of this pioneering organization we join a band of comrades that is vital in helping secure the future for billions of people. We work toward the breakthroughs that can keep all of the world alive and healthy in to the bright incredible future.

Not all of our members have cryonics arrangements, or full cryonics arrangements made yet. To help show our dedication to our members, we want to increase all of our odds of having a shot at a cryonic suspension as a back up. We are working to gain indefinite life extension for us all as thoughtfully and expediently as possible. We do not want to see any of our dedicated support perish along the way, and cryonic suspension provides us an opportunity to try to prevent that from happening.

Join as a member today and you will become eligible for this fund yourself, and a percentage of your funds will go in to this fund. Make a donation to this fund and you will help us reward this priceless band of comrades, as well as help provide incentive for more to join our ranks.

This fund is not a replacement for a good cryonics insurance plan. If you have not already, then make arrangements for your cryonics back up as soon as you can. These plans can be worked out in affordable packages through your general health care insurance. We recommend Alcor, or Cryonics Institute.

In 2008 we drove a matching fund raiser to success so that we could help have our first member cryonicaly frozen. Funds are dispersed through methods as determined by the board and member vote. Together we can win this battle for life. Thank you all for your priceless world saving support.

Here is the submission for the Immortality Institute Dedicated Marketing Fundraiser

*Donate Here*

You are the Immortality Institute, you are the success of this cause. We are helping to make sure that the whole world is informed about this cause as soon as we can. We can not do this with out Immortality Institute members and supporters.

Contribute your hard earned dollars here, and they translate directly in to crucial marketing advancement.

(We are matching the first $2,500 in donations contributed to this fund).

There is always a variety of ongoing work and plans for reaching the world. A world that is informed about this cause is a world that is more readily available to absorb this cause as it expands. A world that is informed about this cause is a world that supports this cause in greater percents. With greater percents of awareness and support we will be able to get through to people more easily.

The continued incoming growth of support from dedicated indefinite life extensionists like you is allowing us to continue to move on toward the horizons of bigger and bigger projects.

With your support, your growing marketing section is reaching ever greater support levels, awareness, resource, and funding success as it advances through these critical stages. You make this happen, we are on our way up, more and more plans are under way and in development and more and more action is under way as your support continues to flood in at ever increasing amounts. Our critical mass is reaching critical mass as it continues to spill over into greater and greater success. We can not do this with out you. On behalf of a rapidly aging world, thank you.

Almost ready to do a trial in drupal. Will be creating the drupal pages soon. Could use some help with that. Any takers? Cyberbrain, Victor, Cnorwood? I need some help tweaking these submissions for pages too. I need feedback like, do the themes fit together well enough, do they clash anywhere? Are there any minor tweaks, sentence redos that might work better? Spelling or structure errors? Theyll probably be getting pictures later, when they are in drupal. Does anybody want to suggest some good royalty free pictures for them? JML? Any art team members? I was thinking, probably 3 pictures or banner type things for each one.

Here is my submission for the

VIP Outreach Team Fundraiser

*Donate Here*

Please consider making a dedicated donation to the Imminst VIP Outreach Team. This is a volunteer team over seen by the VIP Outreach Project Leaders, and Board of Directors. Members of the team use funds for things like sending out books and literature about the cause, buying listings of contact information and other things.

The VIP Outreach Team has sent out copies of the Scientific Conquest of Death, Ending Aging and LifeQuest. They will be sending other books from the imminst.org/store recommended book list as well. They have purchased a monthly subscription to a celebrity contact info list, and other miscellaneous things. These funds have been provided mainly by the volunteers themselves. More funds will allow the team, and the cause, to continue this project, keep it going strong, and also try unique, and larger things.

Unique examples of things the team could do with more funds might include bolder things like potentially offering a VIP a cryonic suspension, or a discount on one. The board would discuss the scenario and help work out the details. We will be able to get through to more and more people as well. Our monthly goal could go from 3 outreach contacts per month to 100 per month depending on funding.

Donations from valuable contributors like you, will allow us to make these things happen sooner rather than later. Of course, as we all know, with this cause, time is of the essence. Thank you for considering giving to this fund. This cause is set to succeed with the contributions of every priceless contributor like you.

If you have any questions about the VIP Outreach Team Fundraiser, you can post them in the community forums, or by email.

We've begun trialing it here: imminst.org/fundraisers

We are looking for feedback on whether /fundraisers is the best, or maybe /fundraiser, or /fundraising. "/fundraising" struck me as possibly better today, however we wont change it until we give it some more thought and see if it would be worth changing them all.

I figured out the url layering or "nodes" as drupal calls it. We are trying the pages within out in this style: imminst.org/fundraisers/dedicatedmarketing imminst.org/fundraisers/888488 imminst.org/fundraisers/artteam

The pages still need tweaking and there is a lot of linking and content adding to do in drupal still. We will then take a step back and look at it, get feedback, and work the kinks out, then potentially hopefully prepare a promotional tour for an official launch date for it.

Another thing, Im not sure how to work the membership donation entry now. Caliban made a lifetime member page, I tweaked it to include all membership donations, but now thinking about how it might be linked up, and thinking about how the membership link should stay independant of the imminst.org/fundraiser/xxx chain Im not exactly sure how we should work that yet. In the main page at imminst.org/fundraisers I think maybe we should link membership directly to imminst.org/donate, and then maybe consider putting Calibans lifetime membership submission as it was in to the line up as well, or possibly I was thinking, take the Caliban lifetime member submission and add it as a link to some of the key places that it says "lifetime membership" in the imminst.org/donate page. Feedback? discussion? Ideas? Anybody want to help with the drupal html work?

We can use a hand with:

-Drupal work, adding pictures, getting all the linking with in and with out in order.
-Editing, going through and cleaning up the theme, tweaking the wording and getting it all to look right.

Most of it is rather vanilla, should pass in a general package, some parts need extra consideration. The main ones are:

-888 for $88, do we want to launch this fundraiser? Does the way its laid out look alright? Would we be stepping on sensf's toes? Should we promote the sensf 10,000 for $100 along with this? (I think yes) Are we ready to follow through with an 888 for $88 like this?

-Member Cryonics back up fund, do we want to launch this fundraiser? Is somebody willing to write up a disclaimer for it?

-When/if we launch this, if this gets voted in for final approval, then do we want to offer a matching grant for some sections, or each section to help kick it off? For example, in the dedicated research fundraiser section there is a tentative offer at this point, to match up to the first 10k. Probably want to consider doing 10k for the marketing as well, and then smaller amounts for the others, maybe $500 for volunteer prize fund, $100 for art team and vip team etc..

This is a great idea, I'd love to see us develop-but it needs to be fleshed out further. What members would qualify for funding? It seems it would be difficult to have our leadership agree on whom would qualify. Also, we'd need to specify what is covered--CI, plus an amount for shipping? Would the amount be the same for members in the US versus other countries?

Alright, thats great news that you want to help promote it, (indicated elsewhere), and very motivating. Every bit of help and motivation can really help go a long ways.

These all continue to develop. If you want to help fine tune this one then of course, please do. As for who would qualify, we could go with just lifetime members, or we could consider something like, any member who has been a member for a year or more. I would also suggest that if we do this that we consider raising all the membership rates.

As for who individually we might fund it seems we would want to set up a disclaimer including things like that its first come first serve, but that we also reserve the right to decide any way we see fit, just so we would be able to resolve any fine details that may arise. I think that we should consider offering fund amounts on a case by case basis. If somebody needs $5,000 extra, if somebody needs travel expenses, if somebody needs a matcher, if somebody needs the whole sum etc... then I suggest we make it so we could consider any like that, but, of course, Im not sure on that.

I forsee this as potentially becoming an awareness generator that could help us get more people to sign up for cryonics too.

I like all of the fundraiser ideas....would you create a new web page for each one? What about one page with links to all of these fundraisers?

Should we be promoting things like the VIP fundraiser on Facebook and Myspace, or would that be better just in it's own page for itself.

I think there is nothing more important that we can be doing right now than fundraising.

PM me or lets chat here about how we can start a VIP fundraising page, or any other ideas you have for fundraising.

Its all being trialed and constructed here: imminst.org/fundraisers

Theres a lot of things we are still doing with it. Two things that are yet to be worked in are
-some of the gimmicks that Florin suggests like an imminst affinity credit card, and other things
-a list of links to other places to make donations, like the 300, mprize, sensf 10,000 for $100, max life, etc..

Right now Im tweaking and getting their themes on track as much as possible, and getting pictures ready to be worked in to each page.
I need help with this though. I need picture editors, people to help buy them from istock, drupal helpers, text editors, etc..

ok went to imminst.org/fundraisers...I like the dedicated research and marketing fundraiser ideas.

We have to go at this from every angle that will allow us to accomplish all of our goals, and I think this is a good start.

I'll help out as needed.

We are currently working on collecting pictures for them. Heres one created by the grand artiste' JediMasterLucia. We plan on using this picture as a theme, a picture put in to each page. We'll be going in and adding them and adding more tweaks and edits to the wording, probably after the elections.

In addition to this now we will be considering and collecting pictures that best fit and respresent each page from here.

Edit: added second version

Nice image.

I agree. Sometimes a picture can convey more than 1,000 words. Images are important and this one is captures the theme.

I like it too. Good job JML.

Heres another we're working with. Created by rwac. I think it looks superb.

Not sure if we would use it for the art team fundraiser page, or the dedicated marketing page though. I think it would be a better candidate for the art team page if it was more artsy, like say, had a picture of rolling hills behind it. In this version though I think it makes an excellent candidate for the imminst.org/fundraisers/dedicatedmarketing page.

We'll probably be adding some of Florins gimmick suggestions in to the main imminst.org/fundraiser page too.

So far we are looking to probably try to work good search in there for sure. Then we also want to pitch the 888488 as a facebook gimmick. 888488 received lukewarm reception at a meeting, and enthusiastic reception from a few members. So we'll try this pitch I suppose.

Then credit cards and games are two others we want to look in to. Maybe others as well, but we'll start with these.

We can add things like the list of credit cards, shopping methods and things that Florin suggests when its done.

Here's a list of what an Imminst supporter could do (some require that Imminst apply for registeration):

We'll try this one out on the VIP Outreach team fundraiser page: Immortality_Institute_VIP_Outreach_team.jpg vips.jpg indefinite_life_extension_cause_vip_outreach.jpg

The urls are designed to be able to be remembered. This page is now imminst.org/fundraisers/vipo

Ill edit other pictures for use into this response here. We then use the url generated here to embed on the page.

Rwac is making progress with more linking for the pages, and we are doing some tweaking. They are coming along.

Im looking for some more help with html work here. If anybody on the content management team is interested then let me know. If you are interested in getting onto the content management team to help with this then let me know.

Besides helping the cause, and inspiring more people to keep going, and more people to join in in general, you also get entered in our monthly volunteer prize drawings for helping with stuff like this.

We also need some people to go through and review all the wording and give more feedback on tweaks and adjustments we might want to make.

Its almost there. Together we can wrap this project up. Let me know if your interested.

Brought over from the split topic:

I picked: lifetime donation
let me know what you think.

ImmInst relies on donations from ordinary people for the mainstay of its activities. Membership of the Institute is more than financial support: From appointing leadership, to decisions on policy and major investments in life extension projects, our Members are the ultimate decision making authority.

While other members are asked for a new membership donation each year, lifetime members never loose their membership status, no matter if they remain out of touch or even in cryonic suspension for years (except after a fair hearing in cases of gross misconduct).

Lifetime members demonstrate, in the clearest possible way, not just their support for this grass roots team effort, but for the cause of life extension in general.

Please consider joining us as a lifetime member, if you haven't already.
You can join right now, by clicking this link. However, the payment software will take a substantial chunk (3-6%) out of the donation in transfer fees. If you want to make sure that the Institute received the full benefit of your donation, please consider sending a check to:

If you have any questions about membership, you can post them in the community forums, or by email.
