All:

The Forum software refuses to embed some images, for reasons that aren't clear to me. Notably, it refuses all the images directly from the PLoS journals, which is a real PITA. Eg, yesterday it refused to post this image. (You can of course download the image to your hard drive, upload it to your Gallery, and then link that, but that's (a) a PITA, and (b) wastes space on our servers for no good reason AFAICS).

Can we allow such images, and if so, why don't we — and if not, why not? Is this a technical issue, or some kind of security or other feature, or what?

Thanks,

-Michael

If you look at the link, it doesn't have an image extension (jpg/png/gif...). For these, the only way to display directly in a post is to download and re-upload.

Its a technical and a security issue.
