Because I doubt there are 2,3 or even 4.

This isn't a completely serious thread but if you could take only one supplement with the goal of extending your lifespan by as many years as possible which would it be?

The hibernation chamber from the Alien movies. Or nanobots to repair things as they require.

You need to be more specific because do you mean a healthy old or old and wearing diapers in a nursing home?

"1 supplement which could make you live to 200" is a lot different than "as many years as possible". Confusing, so which is it?

Nevertheless, when and if you do find the right supplement, be sure to let us all know. I'm speaking of the whole world, BTW.

Number of deaths for leading causes of death
  • Heart disease: 633,842
    • Cancer: 595,930
    • Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 155,041
    • Accidents (unintentional injuries): 146,571
    • Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 140,323
    • Alzheimer’s disease: 110,561
    • Diabetes: 79,535
    • Influenza and pneumonia: 57,062
    • Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis: 49,959
    • Intentional self-harm (suicide): 44,193

Number 1 for me would be to minimize/avoid things which could lead to accidents or self harm. I am not saying by living in a bubble, but simple things like wearing a quality, newer bike helmet when riding. (My opinion) The technology does change, and they do deteriorate in effectiveness over time due to degradation of materials and minor impacts. Type and age of motorcycle helmets also matter if I choose to ride.

Number one supplement would be to supplement my income, and growth of investments. That might enable me to have access to things which are developed through the years.

Diet of herbs and rice wine can get you to age of 256. Trust me I'm reincarnation of Li Ching-Yuen.

What about He Shou Wu? The story of who you were in your past life is that you took He Shou Wu. I first read about you in the late 1980's.

Sensei posted the following in another thread:

"Guess you didn't use

2,3,5,4′-Tetrahydroxystilbene-2-O-β-D-Glucoside

"THSG prolongs the mean, median, and maximum adult lifespans of C. elegans by 23.5%, 29.4%, and 7.2%, respectively,"

https://www.hindawi....l/2016/4973239/

THSG is apparently (one) of the active ingredients for longevity associated with He Shou Wu -- as it is a naturally occurring stilbene found in prepared Polygonum Multiflorum

As I have read about this fellow, I understand he was more like 190 when he died... I am sorry but that doesn't cut it. And he looked old. Who would want to live like that. I would rather die and be reincarnated much sooner than live like that.

Supposably he remained healthy and virile till his death and had 24 spouses during his lifetime. Also all the wisdom one gains through those years, and wealth you can gain in modern world. Sounds pretty good life to me.

What about He Shou Wu?

He Shou Wu used to give me diarrhea when I tried it years ago. Emodin that it contains is a strong laxative. But I don't think the herb in that supplement was prepared properly.

My guess is that it will be a certain nootropic. A lot of studies have been showing that a number of cancers are caused by the brain/nervous system not commanding the whole body as well as it should.

I would think a low calorie ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting would probably work more than any supplement.
