Samsung last week gave an update on upcoming fabrication of their chips, running from 10nm to 7nm, all the way downwards sharing the first details about their 3nm production process. In the second half of this year it will start fabbing on their 7LPP process, 7 nm Low Power Plus based on EUV lithography.

Can't wait for next gen gate-all-around FETs. I am hoping this tech will take us all the way down to 1-2nm.

I thought the physical limit was going to be about 5nm.

Is EUV even producing chips at scale yet? It has been a long time in the making - like over 20 years.

Samsung's 7LPP EUV solution will go into production this year and will be scaled up during the first half of 2019.

Estimates put 3nm fabrication being ready sometime in 2022.
