Non-Chronological Forum Thread Posts

I've been the thread starter for a number of forum threads that get a lot of posts over many pages. For a person new to longecity or new to the thread, it takes a lot of time to get a handle on what the key content of the thread is.

 

Turnbuckle has also authored a number of great threads.

 

It would be useful to provide the thread starter with the capability to...

 

  • create multiple different types of summary posts that are sequenced within the thread at the top but are not chronologically created at the thread opening.
  • provide a unique name for each of these posts
  • sequence them or resequence them
  • hide them from readers unless a button in the thread header is clicked

I handle this now by creating a set of null posts at the top of a new thread. Often I get the intended purpose wrong that might be useful later.

 

It would be great to be able to add summary threads as time passed to facilitate better understanding by all of the thread content.
