VIDEO: Closer To Truth - Will The Universe Ever End?
WILL this universe ever end? If so, how? There are two basic theories, neither pleasant. One is that the Big Crunch is coming: at some point, the universe, which had been expanding, will begin contracting, rushing inward, so that all matter and energy will eventually squash together into a singularity...(Tipler, Murphy, Linde, Lederman, Freedman) http://www.closertot...transcript.html

It’s called "The Big Bang," that inexplicable moment when an infinitesimally small point expanded majestically, and cooked up space, time, energy and matter in a colossal cosmic stew. How can we draw such a fine-grained portrait of the Ultimate Beginning?...(Freedman, Lederman, Linde, Murphy, Tipler) http://www.closertot...rsemeaning/105/

Posted By Hugh Bristic on wta-talk:

Neal Conan interviewed Stephen Hall, author of "Merchants of Immortality" on the nationally syndicated talk show Talk of the Nation on NPR on Wednesday, June 4th. Pretty bad really. Hall is quite bland and uninformative. Leave it to NPR to make a topic as exciting as life extension seem boring. Still, its probably worth a listen. Aside from the staid and tired arguments against immortality argued for by many of the callers, there were a couple of adventurous souls who actually mentioned cryonics and the implications of longevity for space exploration. Hall was very noncommittal about everything and didn't discuss any of the recent exciting developments in research in any specificity.

It is available as a real audio file, but it is a part of a whole program, so you'll probably have to hit the skip to next button on the real player a few times to get to the right segment.

Large archive of Philosophy Radio radio broadcasts dealing with philosophy and its 'descendant' disciplines. I'm digging through them ATM, and the few I've listened to at this time are all quite clearly explained and done.
