In high school I abused mdma and prescrip stimulants for like 2 years in pretty hard and have tried to get better for like 3 years since graduating.  Now I have these intense cravings for pleasure, caffeine and sugar. I’ve tried dieting, exercising , and I have sleeping problems. I don’t know what to do anymore. . I can’t stick to anything. I can’t hold down a job. I’m unmotivated and can’t feel anything(anhedonia). I crave to binge eat sugar and caffeine till I’m sick but i try not to, and even if i does it just makes me feel shit. What do I need to do? See a psychiatrist, or just get on say like keto and stick to it? I just want to get better.. I feel like it has to do with either brain damage or down regulated serotonin and dopamine receptors. I’m slow and sluggish. I don’t react to anything, and I explode and get upset sometimes because I let things boil up. does anyone know of anything that might help? It’s like I just can’t get satisfied, and have no drive for anything. Is this even from the drug abuse or am I just fucked in the head? I over think things and worry yet feel so numb. I’m terrified of the effect of medication on my body from a psychiatrist. Its hard to make up my mind on decisions and i have a hard time remembering anything. has anyone experienced something similar and been able to recover? i do have low testosterone, but surely it wouldnt cause all of this right?

Lol, your anhedonia definitely isn't from abusing stims 3+ years ago.

You were probably self-medicating preexisting anhedonia with stims

Some people are just born with low dopamine transmission or acquire it through negative experiences, and those are the people likely to abuse drugs (all drugs of abuse increase dopamine transmission.) So people who abuse drugs are unconsciously trying to normalize their dopamine transmission. Now you're unconsciously trying to normalize dopamine levels with sweets and caffeine because you still have the same condition that led you to abuse stimulants in the first place. "Can't stick to anything," "can't hold a job"... that's very common in ADHD, which is mostly caused by dopaminergic dysregulation. I bet you have ADD symptoms as well.

Watch this series.. this will explain everything

Dopamine Tone - Part 1 (Episode 8)

Full series

Also offers solutions at the end.

1. It's called underarousal state, the reason why your having this is because your brain is seeking the optimal stimulus level, so that you have the capacity to focus. This is very very common with ADHD-PI and their is no treatment for it other than stimulants, lots of sugar, pornography, video games and other awful addictions you don't want to pick up in your 20's. Since, your still young make sure you build up good habits, or you will spend your 20's deprogramming your mind. Yes, I am underaroused 24/7 at my worst people say I'm high because I'm always so sleepy. Your  best bet, is to get a psychologist/psychiatrist with a strong set of habits and you will have to do this until you  die or until better medication treatments are invented which are rapidly  advancing. As soon as 2022/2023 we will have transcranial Magnetic helmets to stimulate are brains and other new psychotropic treatments. I'd like to see it happen much sooner...

I don't know... precision medicine worked great for me, and my ADHD is severe. Find out which genes are wrecking havoc and choose medications/suppliments based off that?

Allele that makes MAOB run too fast? inhibit it. Fast COMT? Inhibit.
