I'm trying to cut down on my AGEs which is proven to be quite difficult as I eat a lot of protein and olive oil. I'm gonna start slow-cooking my chicken, but anyway, I had a few questions I haven't found any answers to which I was hoping someone here perhaps could answer.
1. Whey protein powder. Is it likely that this contains a high amount of AGEs?
2. I eat about 400g chicken per day. Even if slow-cook that's 4000 units of AGEs. Is there any better protein that I could eat which is still of high quality?
3. What spices inhibits AGE formation? Do these have to be taken with the meal to be effective? In other words, should I makt it a habit to spice all my meals? What about dosing?
4. Olive-oil is already high in AGEs, but I like baking with it so I eat about 35g - 50g per day. My question is, do more AGEs form when the oil is heated up? I never heat higher than 150 degree celcius and try to keep it at 100.
I'd really appreciate if anyone is knowledgeable in this area and we could have a discussion going.
