when they say that adrafinil has 1 hrs half life, it means that it takes 1 hour for half of adrafinil decay into modafinil. So, in a way, it is like you're taking a pill of modafinil with 1-hour delayed action.
3 hours for modafinil is probably inaccurate. FDA label for Provigil says "the effective elimination half-life of modafinil after multiple doses is about 15 hours."
n the United States, Adrafinil is not even classified as a drug as far as I know. Importing it has an inherent risk that an individual can open your mail and bad stuff can happen. However, it's highly unlikely considering Adrafinil isn't in US pharmacopeia...
Adrafinil is not an FDA-approved drug. Federal law prohibits "the introduction or delivery for introduction into interstate commerce" of any non-approved drugs.
Does this law make it illegal to buy adrafinil online or bring it from Mexico? Your guess is as good as mine. Is FDA going to waste its resources trying to prosecute you for it? Highly unlikely. 100 to 1 that they'll just send you the package anyway, or seize it and then eventually return it to the sender.
There is one big legal difference between adrafinil and modafinil. If you're searched by the police, e.g. at a traffic stop, and they find two pills of modafinil in your pocket, it can mean jail and criminal record, unless you have a prescription for it. If they find adrafinil, there's nothing they can do. I heard stories about cops tracking packages with prescription drugs and then getting search warrants for recipients' houses. It's MUCH easier to bust someone for possession than to prove in court that he was the one who actually ordered the drugs.
