Dear All,

If yes, then here is what you can do -- join a book discussion forum at facebook, which has over a hundred of registered members now, and many more hundreds of people surfing around.

Then announce and discuss this book there!

I agree. Terrific suggestion. We should get this and other life extension books into some book clubs.

Does anyone else find facebook complicated? I don't spend much time on the site because I get all kinds of invitiations to create new widgets that I have no ide how to use (although they do seem intended to waste a lot of time). I can't find my way around the site, I have a hard time editing my own page. I can't find any mention of SCOD (Imminst book) anywhere on Gavrilov's book review site. I just spent 10 minutes poking around and I found zilch. Help please.

I did not see "The Scientific Conquest of Death" on the discussion page. There is some goad interaction going for other books/topics, between people who seem to be working to end aging in various manners though.

Did you want one of us to set up discussion for "The Scientific Conquest of Death", in particular I think it would be helpful for it to be there as a link can be provided to where people can read the book--this may help generate discussion.

It is nice to see that the group you created Dr. Gavrilov has attracted the amount of members it has so far, and I'm sure we help it grow.

Yes, it would be nice if some of the book authors introduce this book for discussion there, see for example:

Thanks!

All right, great--I went ahead and did it then--the other authors that are ImmInst members are duly invited to check it out and possibly post ;) Anyone else that would like to check out what I wrote, please feel free to.

Most importantly if you have read The Scientific Conquest of Death, please share your views--and if you have not, I hope you find the time to do so. ;)

Thank you, Shannon !
Amazingly, yesterday the facebook administration has disabled my account and deleted my posts (let's hope this is by mistake).
Sorry that I am out for sometime...
By the way, what do you think about Myspace and other places, as alternatives to Facebook?
Thanks!

Anybody know what is up with that? Will they do that if someone has complained? Did someone think he was trying to viral market 'Ending Aging' ;) If you suspect someone is just trying to sell something you can report their message, perhaps this is what occurred---but Leonid I hope you get some feedback from Facebook's administration, it does not seem right to delete your entire account, everything you'd posted etc. Hopefully all your info is still there, but only 'suspended' while someone is checking into whether or not you are legit, do let us know what you find out.

I've seen more action on Facebook that Myspace lately, but that could just be my experiences.

The discussion I started yesterday for 'The Scientific Conquest Of Death' is still up thankfully, and someone has responded on it: http://www.facebook....6...&topic=3705

Thank you, Shannon, for your kind words!
Fortunately there are so many other opportunities, besides facebook
See, for example, the Google News coverage of "The Scientific Conquest of Death":

Hope it helps,

Hi Shannon,

Thank you for introducing your book ''The Scientific Conquest Of Death' ( http://tinyurl.com/ysbc3k ) for discussion at our Facebook Forum:

"New Books on Aging and Longevity (Discussion Forum)"
http://www.facebook....?gid=8126691324

Please note that recently a friendly criticism has appeared there, regarding book chapters of your book coauthors, Max More, and Marvin Minsky.

Perhaps you could please invite them to our Forum to respond there.

Thank you!

Yes, I noted them--thanks, I sent an email to Natasha and Max, with a link in case he wanted to respond, but he is busy with edits on his upcoming 07 (or 08) book.

Thank you, Shannon!

Also if Marvin Minsky or his representative could respond to a friendly criticism of his book chapter there, this would be helpful indeed.

Best wishes,
