Is there a database of 'longevity' doctors in North America? If not, how does one find such a doctor?

I'm thinking of going to Terry Grossman but if there are others especially in the NYC, LA, Dallas/Austin area that would be great.

Good luck.

Sadly most of these doctors don't take insurance so you are looking at some pretty expensive visits even though your prescriptions will probably be covered.

The best situation is to find a GP, Internal Medicine Specialist or Endocrinologist that has longevity interests. Go to your insurance companies find a doctor site or look in the book of approved physicians they gave you and look for a GP, Internal Medicine Doc or Endocrinologist who also has Gerontology as a specialty.

Thanks for those tips, I was already wondering about how to find a doctor to support me in my plans. I thought it would be more complicated. Thanks!

This link doesn't work any more. I assume that this is what he originally linked to:

Was going to spend the day looking for a place to send my mulishly health-lazy parents, but struck immediate gold with some people on the LEF search. [EDIT: of course my parents hate them]

Only two of the links Edward posted work, and seemed like such general health sites that I was unable to find a doctor search (admittedly without searching exhaustively).

Another great resource I'm aware of through my current doctor is the Institute for Functional Medicine practitioner search. If you're looking around generally, Functional and Integrative are both keywords of great value. It generally means that they have classical medical training, but also keep up with current research in important subjects, and aren't just the kind of lazy people you find at hospital offices who think there's nothing wrong unless you have a full-blown, identifiable disease. Not necessarily focused on advanced anti-aging, but if you have something complicated wrong with you, or want to really sort out your diet, etc., these are the kinds of doctors to look for.

Not fully set on where to send my parents (or where to send myself for mid-30s advanced health stuff)....anyone else have any good search sites or tips?

I'm searching, both for myself and my mom. If anyone knows of an amazing physician who is cool with LE and preventative care please do let me know. I live in Manhattan and my mom is in northern NJ.

Depending upon your and her priorities, and if y'all are interested in possibly experimenting with low dose rapamycin, Dr. Alan Green is on 4401 Westmoreland St, Little Neck, N.Y.

(347) 255-3944

His blog provides interesting insights: https://www.rapamycintherapy.com

He also comments frequently and regularly on Josh Mittledorf's blog, and you can get a sense of his style and temperament.

If you pursue this with your mom, it'd be really interesting to hear you impressions. I'm sure most here would be curious what that's like. I think he's doing like 7mg/wk of rapa, which as you may know, is one of the only indicated drugs to possibly extend LS in rodents. And people have been using it in daily doses (for organ transplant reasons) for decades, so it's shown to be mostly safe. But in low doses intermittently used to possibly "slow aging..." no one really knows yet, afaik
