First of all, please text haiti to 90999 yourself if you havent already.

Second of all, what could be a more powerful, simpler way to raise money?

At imminst.org/fundraisers we are still tweaking and working on the main content. Eventually though we are going to start going through possible gimmicks to include like those that Florin Clappa suggests in the discussion and construction topic on the fundraisers.

This one seems so powerful though I wonder if we should give it more thought sooner than later.

I think this is the pricing and options page for it:

I'm concerned that we won't get enough donations to cover the initial cost. I'd rather us get behind a specific project and ask for donations then.

Recorders minute: Decided to revisit this in the future if we feel it will be needed.

I decided to resurrect this and here's why: I don't know if this idea is still being given any thought whatsoever but UK phone company Vodaphone seem to have a service called JustTextGiving. It is what we have already discussed where you text to donate. Perhaps the directors could look into pricing for it and whether it is feasible?

I looked into it, the UK service is only available to UK charities.
The US services that I could find back then charge more than we are likely to take in.

Really is a shame we cannot have a branch/offshoot of Longecity that operates out of UK and can legitimately use UK servcies. :(
