Why do you say you're allergic to niacin? Did you take some once and get the niacin flush (itchy red skin, burning sensation)? If so, that's a normal reaction to pure niacin.

I get shortness of breath, trouble swallowing and a drop in blood pressure. I'm looking for something to replace niacin for depression and schizophrenia as it really helps even in low doses. I think it does this by just raising histamine in the body for a short time but I honestly not sure.

what I have.

What form of niacin did you try? Just so you know, there is little evidence for altered histamine levels to play a part in any of the roles it claims on that site. Usually histadelia/histapenia is considered on the fringes of alternative medicine. You can try supps which alter histamine levels, but I wouldn't hold your breath and would start looking at other causes.

shortness of breath, trouble swallowing sound a bit like high histamine symptoms
