To try and make piracetam and other racetams work I've started taking the following substances: MSG, calcium and sea salt along with piracetam. To mention it I also take desloratadine (anti - histamine). This morning I took a shower and felt great. Before making breakfast I took the mentioned substances and did some exercises for my abs. Standing up from the final exercise I felt very dizzy and had to throw myself onto the couch or else I would have passed out. This was roughly 15 minutes after taking the combo. After ying on the couch for some time, I felt normal and stood up again. After just a few steps I got extremely dizzy again and laid myself flat on the floor. After a couple of minutes I stood up again and the dizziness did not reappear. Could any of the above mentioned substances cause this, or is this related to something completely different?

Don't take MSG. It's not a nootropic. Glycine or d-serine are much better and safer choices IMHO for NMDA modulation.

I still think the piracetam dose is too high. After 2 grams along with these supplements, I feel spaced out, like I'm not actually present in the moment.

I don't like what's happening. I was just screwing some screws upside down and the dizziness came back instantly, making me feel extremely uncomfortable. Could the supplements be working, and have made me very sensitive to piracetam?

I will. I have been taking about 250 mg MSG a day, but maybe this is too much? After reading around a bit, it seems like both overdosing on calcium and MSG can cause dizziness.

Are you supplementing magnesium? Taking calcium without magnesium to balance it can also cause problems. If you aren't already, add in magnesium in the evenings - I personally think mag citrate is the best value but chelates or any form with an organic anion should be fine (oxide and sulfate are the ones to avoid).

If it not working for you please be patient and read carefully some information are just lie and try to confuse you .

but i think piracetam not great as it would to be expected .

I'll order some Magnesium threonate, and also moving over to pramiracetam instead, as I think the chance of success is way better.

I'm not a Doctor and compared to some my knowledge of neurology is very limited however .....

I'd maybe try investigating the anti histamine, to see if it's depleting your acetylcholine stores in tandem with the Piracetam. From what iIve read first generation ones will, however the one your taking sounds to me like it's a second generation one.

I've also read that acetylcholine levels can have an impact on vertigo (source).

I've not posted links because these things are very easy to google.

Certainly an avenue I think that's worth investigating. Maybe have a couple of eggs and see how you feel.

<edit>

Or actually reading the symptoms I'd get your blood pressure checked that kind of dizziness can come from low blood pressure.

"To try and make piracetam and other racetams work I've started taking the following substances". They mostly don't work, that is the problem. Not much you can do to change that.

Do you recommend trying something else then?

QUICK NOTES:

  • Piracetam's functions work injunction with calcium ions and glutamte concentrations in the brain. These 2 substances should be well balanced.
  • Piracetam's dosage is like a 'U' shaped curve there is a different sweet spot for everyone, but the most common is 4.8 grams. Refer to ScienceGuy's thread for why you should consume 4.8 grams.
  • Choline and glutamate levels matter they also exhibit 'U' shaped curve sweet spots.
  • To Regulate Calcium ions in your brain, drink atleast 500ml or 16.9 .oz (U.S. ounces) of milk everyday. If you are lactose intolerant then calcium tablets should be used.
  • Never consume choline above 3.5 grams per day, it'll becomes toxic to the body and put you in Depression.
  • Always eat a well balanced meal with carbs, proteins, unsaturated fats and adequate amounts of sodium.Avoid carbohydrates from excess sugar.

TROUBLESHOOTING PIRACETAM:
  • If you consume over 9.6 grams of Piracetam per dose to feel the effect of Piracetam then you possibly have a low concentration of Calcium ions in your brain. (See the quick notes to resolve the problem)
  • Not getting the effect of 'Enhanced vision'? See the results of my team's report to determine which category you fall in. You could have low glutamate levels, low calcium ion concentration in your brain or an imbalanced ratio of both.
  • Headaches? You might have a low amount of choline in your system or some other drug/substance is interacting with piracetam. Keep taking SMALL amounts of choline in regular intervals if you have choline deficiency or try to find out what's interacting with the piracetam, (headaches are caused by too much sugar, alcohol, amphetamines, cannabis drugs, or dopamine reliant substances (like nicotine from cigarettes).
  • Not getting any effect? IF it's your first time, wait till 3 weeks of regular piracetam and choline consumption (4.8 grams of piracetam or whatever suits you best and choline as needed). IF it has been past 3 weeks of piracetam consumption then immediately stop consuming for a week and start again consuming again. (It's like a reset button). If nothing is happening then you are either failing to notice the subtle effects or your brain chemistry is not ready for accepting piracetam.
More troubleshooting problems to come.

When i not take calcium daily i have no notice enhanced vision and environment seem darker .

Will try take more calcium and see will enhanced vision come back .

The dizziness has occurred only mildly lately, but today it spiked. Just sitting still reading a book, I turned my head around and in a specific position, everything started spinning. Again it felt like I was going to pass out, but now SITTING STILL!

Have you used any rec drugs in the past? I never had a problem with MSG but since using drugs it can give me a bit of dizzyness, I wonder if this is blood brain barrier.

If not it sounds like nystagmus or middle ear related.

I have never used recreational drugs, and nootropics is probably as far as I want to go within the drug world. I have very good vision, so nystagmus should not be a possibility.

Positional dizziness is a symptom of Meniere's disease. Go to see an ear-specialist!

Its also a symptom of being drunk, I would be surprised if this was menieres disease but would be interesting to see what the doctor would have to say, my guess would be "stop taking all that stuff".

Sound so scary for piracetam + msg + calcium ,should be caution about combine all of them or accident eat msg in food while on piracetam.

anti - histamine ,anticholinergic may have bad synergistic with piracetam and give you dizzy not sure .

Expert please clarify this .

I have not taken anything for two or three days and I'm still experiencing the dizziness. I've noticed the dizziness most commonly hits when turning my head to the right and tilting it slightly backwards. Lately it has happened mostly when I'm lying in bed, trying to sleep or when waking up in the morning.
