LongeCity has always relied on its users base to police quality of forum content.
Now, all Immortality Institute Members are 'deputy moderators' if they want to be. All full Members have the power to render inappropriate posts invisible by clicking the STOP! button at the bottom of the offending post.
Selecting that option instantly removes the post in question from view until a Moderator has reviewed it.
We trust our Members not to abuse this option and are grateful to all who use it actively to help the Moderators rid the forums of spam and nonsense.

Clicking STOP! should be reserved for obvious spam or violations of the user agreement.

other options:

'report' is open to all users to draw attention to inappropriate posts. This will not remove the post from view but alert a a Moderator to review it.

rep_down.png voting a post down is the the least severe option - if a post has received a number of down-votes it is removed from view until a user expressly clicks to view it. This option should be selected for low-quality posts but *not* just because you disagree with the sentiments expressed.

Full Members who want to help out regularly are welcome to apply for full Moderator status via the contact form
