How come Danny can print in Hebrew letters and you are still showing the other type of script Adi?

And does it matter?

The other type of scrip Laz, is just another font more likely to the eye... I made it so.

Laz, if you're using Internet Explorer, go to the View menu, Encoding, and select Hebrew. Infernity is using a font where the Hebrew characters are stored in "upper ASCII", where we normally see letters with accents and such. There are fonts for many languages that work like that, to save transmission bandwidth.

Danny is using some kind of unicode, if you look at the page source, e.g.:
& #1506;& #1491;& #1497; = 'עדי'
I inserted spaces between the & and the #, so it wouldn't translate to a character.

"òãé"=Adi
In Hebrew heh.

However, there are two Hebrew choices:
Hebrew (Windows)
and
Hebrew (ISO-Visual)

The first one works for me, the other one shows it all, like wrong direction of letters...
I'm not sure about there tho.

Well, since I'm using Windows, I use the 'Hebrew (Windows)' encoding to view threads where you post in Hebrew. I hadn't tried the other Hebrew settings (I actually have four choices), but it doesn't surprise me that they're not compatible.

Well, I live in Israel, pretty obvious I have these options. I believe you guys can't read Hebrew at any rate, so it doesn't make any difference, does it?

First off Adi I review your input and others in various languages with an eye toward learning and second seeing what I am capable o deciphering based on pattern recognition.

Third; what you never heard of a text translation program? [tung]

עדי = òãé =Adi / So does your font reflect a phonetic representation?

עדי, אני יודע שהמגיבים מעצבנים אותך, אז קחי נשימה עמוקה לפני שאת קוראת את התגובות ...

Adi, I know that the *reactors* bother you, then take deep breath before you read the reactions

I placed *reactors* in asterisk because I suspect it is a dialectic marker, or mistranslated. I learn a lot about socio and psycholinguistic markers this way and have found them always important when I want to assimilate a comprehensive linguistic ability. I also learn to attach phonetics to the language for the purpose of pronunciation and it is much harder when it is strictly a text learning situation rather than as real time exposure.

Of course today I can tune in various online Israeli radio stations and I have at times. I enjoy a little klesmer now and then as well as that Hasid Hip-Hop/Reggae artist whose name escapes me at the moment.

By now it should be obvious that I love language and one of the things I admire about you is your linguistic ability. I am not trying to pry but as these are public forum I didn't think there was anything personal particularly. I thought if was personal you would take it to a PM.

Adi, it wasn't your post or thread that I translated [wis]

Coincidentally I discovered that Danny was talking to you directly.

Are you familiar with Tikkun?

I also correspond occasionally with David Devor at his Project Mind group in your country. I am confident he would love to dissect you.

Does it surprise you that I am interested in Israel and in particular the culture of Israeli youth?

Cross cultural studies in general fascinate me.

Well well, Laz, I personally HATE any type of rap and hip-hop and I can't stand Israeli hip-hop, and what I hate the most is the Eastern type Israeli music sounds like HELL!!

Well, Laz, I suppose I can't hide anything from you anymore [wis] hehe just kidding.

Well, I used to hate the Hebrew language till I've seen lots of places it is being used as some holy language and that's pretty cool.

I admire that thing in you, Hebrew is a difficult language, well done.

Well, it's nice to see that my post spawned such a tangent ranging from the tennants of Israeli hip-hop to linguistics, phonetics and automated translation [lol]
Adi, so I take it you haven't bought the latest Shlomi Seranga or Eyal Golan then? (or Subliminal for that matter... ;)
Funnily enough I used to loath Mizrachi but started having an ear for it during my time abroad...strange what being away does to you...
Laz, who's David Devor?

Sarit is the worst really.

Listen to Soilwork and In Flames.

And yeah Laz, who's David Devor?
I think you've mixed few singers heh [lol]

David Devor and his Project Mind are a somewhat religious and right wing organization that never the less has some interesting things to say sometimes. He also sends me good jokes and pictures ;))

http://www.projectmind.org/

http://www.observati...roject_mind.htm

http://humankindadva...-1_Sheppard.htm

I find him both too theistic and often a bit too *zionist* and single minded but I try and at least listen to all sides.

I think this is the guy I was listening to the other day.

The unorthodox orthodox reggae of Matisyahu
http://www.montrealm...305/music1.html

Though he does still remind me of Wierd Al Yankovic doing his Quaker version of Michael Jackson routine.

I enjoy all forms of music because for me music is basically anthropological and a way to learn about the culture that creates it and the scrutinize the synergy of cross cultural chemistry.
