What articles do you recommend to share with others to get them into life extension? Recently I have been using: http://www.theguardi...oogle-longevityas it seems mostly positive and talks about a lot of stuff and then throw in a link to sens too. Something along the lines of:

See this? http://www.theguardi...oogle-longevitypretty interesting! You should take a look at Aubrey de greys organisation sens too:  http://sens.org

Thoughts?

I am going to say this from experience: a lot of people are still very negative/sceptical about the notion of life extension and don't want it rammed down their throats any more than religion. I am open about my support for the cause but I am cautious not to constantly bring it up and/or overshare things on that topic.

Also depends what technology you think has the biggest potential of making us immortal. Share scientific articles about it. Or for topics about it.

Lol another one :) Share them this web site:       http://www.whyparadi...radise.tk/     In there are written many reasons for why they would want to live much much longer. They may get persuaded from material or non-material goods and may start wanting to be immortal or very long living.

I confirm it from my experience.

It's true.  This being said, there are ways to spread the word that cause less of these issues.  Consider for example that I am developing a video series to provide easy to understand information on the LE movement and will be making it available on the web on a site that aims to help with the idea of "outreach", which is giving people the ability to learn and encouraging them to do so.

The issue with informing people in a direct manner is that they may not want to hear it or may not be ready to hear it.  By instead providing resources and encouraging people to use it in a more widespread manner you are focusing your efforts on people who want to learn and helping them to develop further as appropriate.

Sanhar - I do share videos and interesting articles that aren't directly related but still border on life extension. I shared on about population yesterday. I think that simple videos, especially ones with the potential to go viral are good for getting people's attention.

Seivtcho - I like that Why Paradise site. :) Will share it at some point.

I am sure that there are plenty here like myself, who have friends and family who are dead against the notion of life extension but who they love dearly and wouldn't want to alienate/annoy. At the end of the day, in the eyes of a lot of people transhumanist ideas and life extension are given as much seriousness as non believers give to a religion. If someone brings the topic up/says something painting life extension in a bad light, I ensure that I always say something without forcing it down their necks.

Thanks :) The idea for a video that has the potential to become viral, and that to show the people, that immortality is not that impossible, also is nice. What this video has to contain, however? It has to make people want to research immortality technologies, not only representing them.

You can have videos that explain it simply like Sanhar is trying to do, which is brilliant. However, for something to go viral I would say that something clever and funny with a serious message would work. As to the how and what, I have no idea whatsoever...I am not a writer or anything with the expertise nor ability to make a video liable to go viral. :)

In a way this relates to what I am doing.  I believe strongly in doing something regardless of whether or not it is ideal.  In doing something - in having something - it usually leads to better things.  Waiting around with nothing for a great idea to come to me could result in me not producing anything at all.

I have no real idea how life extension could be made into a viral video at this point... but in making the videos I am and will be it may occur to me.  Or perhaps it will occur to someone else that watches what I make.

Then there's the possibility that what we do, even if it doesn't go viral, might make a real difference.  Who knows?  I'd just as soon throw all efforts into the mix and see what we can come up with.

This is a great idea, a great thread, things that we can share that will make more people realize that

these are the most important things that we must focus on:

showing how death is the worst thing that ever exists,

showing how good would be a solution that makes the relatives of our friends become young

and without diseases

Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, RIhanna are making viral songs about very superficial subjects

and they are viewed by hundreds of millions of people.

Let´s find viral videos and viral articles that will gather more people

to come by our side here, to use resources for our most important common goal

Thank you that you guys exist, I am grateful

Another recent video that is positive and can be used to attract more of our friends

towards life extension and curing aging:
