Hello all,

For those who couldn't make it: We had our zero'th meeting tonight, an
informal dinner discussion with a goal of firming up the organization
of the DC Future Salon.

Thanks to all who attended for a pleasant and productive dinner! ;-)

The organizational stuff was taken care of in the first 20 minutes or
so, following which we consumed Japanese food and carried out a number
of separate small-group discussions.

The basic decisions made were as follows:

1) the two coordinators of the Salon will be Ben Goertzel and Bruce
Klein

2) the meetings will be held Wednesday evenings at 7PM, once per
month; probably the first Wednesday of each month assuming this works
out in terms of availability of a good place to meet.

3) the meetings will probably be held in a community center in
Bethesda, which rents conference rooms for $15/hour; the fee will be
split among all the attendees who feel like contributing

Ben Goertzel was given the task of arranging for the conference room,
and will post to this list once this has been accomplished, along with
a date for the first actual Salon meeting.

The topic for the first Salon meeting remains to be determined and
will be announced along with the date.

-- Ben Goertzel

I'm launching an online meetings chapter using Google Hangouts On Air. This would be a great way to bring together users in close proximity but still too far to meet locally.

Visit these pages for more info on LongeCity's new Online Meeting Chapter (pending approval).
