A quick intro: I am interested in longevity and optimizing human performance. Because of my slightly addictive/over-indulgent personality, I am constantly experimenting with different supplements, performance enhancers and nootropics. I won't get into details, but the bottom-line is that I have not been clean of any supplements/nootropics for the past 5 years, and at times I worry if all these nootropics/supplements will be harmful to my health. I would like opinions and facts from the longecity community to give me some ideas to bounce around in regards to whether or not I am optimizing human performance and lengthening my lifespan, or if my current lifestyle will burn me out. Any feedback is greatly appreciated
Career: Business-to-business sales, slightly stressful and sitting approximately 5 hours a day in front of a computer
Exercise: 4 days a week of weights and/or cardio. 4 days a week of light stretching and mobility
Diet: High protein and high fat, with a lot of vegetables and fruits for carbohydrates. Very minimal grain or starches
Sleep: Approximately 7-8 hours a night
Here is where my concerns begin. I currently have and take the following supplements/nootropics on the following schedule:
Monday:
- 2 cups of green tea (75mg caffeine each)
- 700mg Ashwagandha
- 400mg Cordyceps
- Fish Oil (EPA- 1344mg, DHA- 470mg)
- 400mg Astaxanthin 2.5% Beadlets
- 5mg Melatonin
Tuesday:
- 1 cup coffee (150mg caffeine)
- Shilajit tea (1 pea sized scoop)
- 1000mg Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCl)
- Fish Oil (EPA- 1344mg, DHA- 470mg)
- Vitamin D3 1000IU
- Medical Marijuana (for sleep)
Wednesday:
- 80mg Gingko Biloba Leaf Extract
- 200mg Tibetan Rhodiola Root Extract
- 600mg Eleuthero Root Extract
- 700mg Ashwagandha
- 400mg Cordyceps
- Fish Oil (EPA- 1344mg, DHA- 470mg)
- 400mg Astaxanthin 2.5% Beadlets
- 1000 mcg Vitamin B-12
- 1000mg Lion's Mane Mushroom (encapsulated powder)
- Medical Marijuana (for sleep)
Thursday:
- 2 caps of Alpha Brain (10mg Vitamin B6, [650mg blend of L-Tyrosine, L-Teanine, Oat Extract, Phosphatidylserine], 350mg Cat's Claw Extract, [240mg blend of Alpha GPC, Bacopa monnieri Extract, Huperzia serrata Extract], [65mg blend of L[leucine, Vinpocetine, Pterostilbene])
- Shilajit tea (1 pea sized scoop)
- 1000mcg Vitamin B-12
- 800mg Panax Ginseng Root Extract
- 100mg Phenylpiracetam
- 500mg Phosphatidylserine
- Fish Oil (EPA- 1344mg, DHA- 470mg)
- Medical Marijuana (for sleep)
Friday:
- 200mg Adrafinil (low dose due to rise in liver enzymes)
- 700mg Ashwagandha
- 400mg Cordyceps
- Fish Oil (EPA- 1344mg, DHA- 470mg)
- 7mg Melatonin
Saturday:
- Ion Pre-Workout( 175mg caffeine, 30mg Niacin, 500mcg Vitamin B-12, 59mg Calcium, +lightweight sketchy proprietary blend [hence once a week usage only] )
- Fish Oil (EPA- 1344mg, DHA- 470mg)
- 700mg Ashwagandha
- 400mg Cordyceps
- Medical Marijuana (for sleep)
Sunday:
- 200mg Sulbutiamine
- 400mg Astaxanthin 2.5% Beadlets
- Fish Oil (EPA- 1344mg, DHA- 470mg)
- Medical Marijuana (for sleep)
I've been following this regimen (more or less supplements at times) for about 10 months at the moment. What are all your opinions?
