Our next guest on the Longecity podcast is Neil Thanedar, the founder of Labdoor!

Labdoor is a unique player in the supplements industry. They independently buy supplements from retail stores and test them for contaminants, purity, and label accuracy. Then they publish the results for free.

This information is especially relevant to our community at Longecity, we're very supplement focused and also care more about quality than the general public.

Please post your questions for Neil in the comments below!

And check out their website to see which brands and supplements are currently achieving the highest quality test results.

I am expecting some good questions for this podcast, considering so many here are taking so many supplements. Please post your questions below.

I want to know (and will ask during the podcast) if there is a specific company, supplement, or country of origin, that consistently near the bottom of Labdoor rankings.

I would like to propose that you test various raw cacao powders, in hopes of finding one with low heavy metal content

Ask them about this:

Nordic naturals fish oils had high levels of peroxides in their fish oil caps per labdoor review/testing, yet:

1.  It passed the test of consumerlab.com an independent agency which evaluated freshness i.e. peroxides and

2.  Nordic naturals themselves have 3d party testing of their products with access to the COAs which showed that their products pass the peroxide test.

https://www.nordicna...est_Results/860

So basically of 3 sets of tests, they pass 2/3 with you being the outlier.  Comments?

Sorry that I didn't post immediately after the podcast recording (left on vacation late last week). It was a great interview and should be available within a few days. Your questions were answered "in general" if not about the specific companies/products you were wondering about. Labdoor does not cover many food products but hopes to in the future.

Coming up on the Longecity podcast is an interview with Labdoor founder Neil Thenadar!

Labdoor independently buy supplements from retail stores and test them for contaminants, purity, and label accuracy, then they publish the results for free. We interviewed Neil a few years ago and it will be great to talk with him again to see how things have changed and what the future is like for quality assurance in the supplement industry.

Would be great to see some 3rd party powdered supplements tested (BulkSupplements, etc). Also things like Cacao powder and beans, Maca Powder, etc.
I am wondering how the site survives without any 3rd party interests, and also what testing equipment they use.

Labdoor questions:

1. Is it possible that they get paid by companies to rank their products as real even though they might not be? would That would be legal?
2. Just because one product contains what it says it does, it doesn't necessarily mean all their products are legit, and suppliers change all the time, so maybe at one point say SOLGAR had a good supplier and some of their supplements which happened to be tested At that time and was confirmed to be legit but that doesn't mean it still is. Thoughts? So just because one specific vitamin supplement from a brand is NSF/USP verified doesn't make all their other products legit?
3. When labdoor does testing and order the supplement do they go by a different name/address so they stay hidden and the company wont send them a real product so it makes it seem all their products are real? Or do they ask to be sent one from x company to test?
