guys does Metyrapone block cortisol? Im confused on the description of it on Wikipedia.
it says:
Metyrapone blocks cortisol synthesis[1] by reversibly inhibiting steroid 11β-hydroxylase. This stimulates ACTH secretion, which in turn increases plasma 11-deoxycortisol levels.
But wouldnt blocking cortisol decrease ACTH? Since its CRH>CRF1>ACTH
If I have an Overactive CRF-1 , will this drug work??

sure but based on the pharmacology of the drugs wouldnt Metyrapone be the best?
also some others ive found (thoughts?):
Aminoglutethimide (cytadren)
hmm maybe I might give Mifepristone a shot...
Mifepristone is a cortisol receptor antagonist sometimes used in the treatment of elevated levels of cortisol due to ectopic adrenocorticotrophin (ACTH)-producing tumors. Mifepristone competitively binds glucocorticoid receptors and suppresses the peripheral features of hypercortisolism in Cushing's syndromes. According to Cushing's Support and Research Foundation, Jennifer Kirkland, a clinical neuropsychologist, notes trial studies in which mifepristone has been found to be effective in reducing the effects of elevated cortisol, such as depression and mood disorders, without inhibiting the production of natural hormones.
So Mifepristone will keep my natural hormones in check and just balance cortisol...
hmm but im worried.. since this is a abortion drug .. what effects does this have on men?
man looking at the side effects of mifepristone.... scares me...
Probs give Metyrapone a try first. since there doesent seem to be many side effects.

It's a dual receptor antagonist and has an effect on progesterone receptors, also I think. That is the part that relates to the abortion. I'm not sure what the effect is in men.
I know it upregulates the UPR which is definitely a bonus for longevity overall.
