There is one other thread that mentions that fasting may have negative effects on the heart.....I am wondering what might be the possible mechanisms for this?
This is especially as, I was about to purchase glucosamine after having read it works similarly to metformin....but unfortunately I read that heart arrythmias are a possible side effect.
Whenever I have so much as a delayed meal, my heart will tell me, either before, or later on in the evening, with a skip or two. I've been told I've got some mild atrial ectopy which is benign. I'm 47 and female, so I think hormones play a big role, with more turbulence going on than in the past. I also take thyroxine, which may cause this.
I know other people who will fast and let their heart skip away, but I can't do that, it's too worrying for me.....yet I'd love to restrict calories to some degree.
I thought glucosame would be good for me, but not keen on the reports of it causing heart arrythmias....
So it just makes me wonder, the precise mechanisms that take place in fasting and what that can tell us about the heart's needs Anyone else tried it?
thank :-)
