What do you think about avoid to sleep for one day a week using modafinil in the night?
This would give you extra free time per week (about 8hrs) for doing the things that your daily routine (job, family..) doesn't let you.

Do you think it is bad for your health? Or you think the brain can accept it?

Plenty of people regularly go with only 5 hours of sleep a night when 8 would be ideal for general health and well-being.  That's missing out on 21 hours of sleep a week.  As I see it, you just have to decide where your priorities are at a given time and how well you personally can tolerate that.  So it's basically going to depend on the individual and that individual's life circumstances at any particular point in time.

I would think that the brain tries to compensate for the lack of sleep by extending the duration of sleep the following night(s).

Very nice answer.
Yes of course it would be healtier sleep regularly 8hr\day but as you say there could be time in life where one could prioritize other stuffs than optimal sleep time-span.

(Well dude, I don't know how is it possible for some people sleep only 5hrs)

This is what i would know.
This is what experience tell us: when you stay awake all day long for a party for example, the next day you sleep more.
But with modafinil the chemistry of the brain is being touched so maybe the lack of sleep time is resetted.

I will know the next week when i'll start my trials.

The effective dose can vary greatly between individuals.
