i read on this forum many people using NAC for variety of reasons. few months ago i started to take 1000mg a day, i'm not sure if it actually  helped or not (for ocd/depression)

but i couldn't continue using it because it smells like rotten eggs. i tried two brands, same problem. and i'm not sure how much of that smell actually stays on your body.

so is there a brand that actually does not smell so bad? if not, whats the alternative?

ps. both brands i used were vegan/vegetarian, but i discovered something while i was looking around, there are some companies that use that human hair to produce NAC. some of them are very popular vitamin companies. how can they do that and never put a warning on the bottle?

I just bought two brands I'd never bought before. Neither have an objectionable oder, hardly any odor at all. They were Nutracost 600 mg 180 capsule and Jarrows N-A-C Sustain tablet. Or maybe it a genetic thing - smelling NAC?

the powder I take reeks.   I've heard it does and that's normal for cysteine (NAC.)    I love smelly type foods and honestly I like my smell,   so I don't know if it reeks out of my pores.   I don't take too much or even take it that often though.    My idiot doctor said he had no clue why it should smell,    and looked confused,   but most drs don't know jack about any medicine including the ones they throw at patients.   My pharmacist,  whom I do consider intelligent,    agreed that NAC can smell acrid or the way I've noticed.   If you take too much of anything it will be excreted through your pores,  or in other ways,   but this is not one I've noticed causing any issues.
