Hi everyone.

So I’ve been taking vilazadone (vibryd) for the past couple months at 30 mg and it has worked great for my depression.

Alongside this, I also started to take an ECA (ephedra/caffeine/aspirin) stack for
Thermogenic reasons.

I noticed that if I took more ephedra and aspirin I would get a semi euphoric kind of feeling and kinda got hooked and kept upping my
Doses. I was taking rather high amounts for a couple weeks.

The last time
I took it it felt like the euphoric effect had stopped. In retrospect it was obviously a bad idea but the euphoric effect kinda blindsided me and I wasn’t getting side effects.

I know ephedra is an MAOI to some degree.

Anyways, now it feels like the vibryd has completely stopped working for me and I’m back to square one with my
Brain fog, depression, and anehdonia.

Im ofc going to stay away from the ECA combo now. Been off it three days.

I’m just trying to understand why I feel like such shit now. Did I fry out my receptors in some way from combining the two? Should I just give it some
Time and the vibryd should start working again the longer I’m off the ECA stack?

Just a little scared here. I hope I return to normal the longer I’m away from the ECA.

Anyone have any thoughts on what might’ve happened neurochemically and what I could do to get feeling better again?

Thanks!

chasing euphoria ends badly all the time. receptors downregulate or neurones die. you probably know that.

The more time I’m off it should things normalize again with my AD?

Any suggestions on how to recoup as fast as possible?

My only plan currently is to stay away from the stuff and hope my brain regenerates

Did that.

Still not feeling right. Not sure what happened neurochemically. Besides stopping, not sure what I need to do to to rebalance.

lmfao 3 days a in't enough for the body to restore homeostasis, please be patient for another 87 days.

then report back with any truly persisent negatives and the routes you are most considering.  if you keep throwing spice into your soup, you never get a chance to test the flavors or let them marry

Well the first post isn’t indicating the day I stopped.

It’s been 10 days but I hear you. Just so painful the way I feel mentally.

Was feeling pretty great on the AD and now it’s like there’s nothing

Just wondering if there’s anything I can do to speed up the process to feeling better and like the AD is working again

i don't know man, i know it's boring but i would just abstain a little longer. if i feel something's wrong talk to my doctor

this is what happens when we play with things we don't understand.

I think Im going to have to talk to my Dr.

Its not just boring, it's like everything has been put on hold in my life. Its a scary place to be to feel like I can't function.

Hoping someone with knowledge of the interactions between ephedra and vibryd might have a scientific/biochemical explanation and be able to provide some advice. Really really struggling here and need to get back to my old self.

i meant my suggestion was boring not your state of mind, but sure let's go with that.

and seeing as you basically mixed an MAOI with an SSRI, serotonin syndrome is a possibility.  obviously you're still alive, but possibly in a damaged state.  your doctor may want to taper you off the anti-depressant, to let relax and heal any surviving serotonergic nerves.

other than that you can cut out the ECA monkey business, keep taking the AD, and wait to see what happens.  try not to worry about it so much either, things have a funny way of working out for most of us

Hmm.

I didn’t feel any symptoms of serotonin syndrome. I think ephedra acts mostly on norepinephrine. Maybe a little on serotonin. Scares me to think of coming down on my AD due to this critical time in my life.

We’ll see what my psych says. I really hope things will balance out neurochemically the longer I’m off this stuff.

I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do besides taper off that can help me feel good again.

Anyways, thanks much for your feedback.
