Hi,

I'm brand new here and was wondering if I could get some advice, thoughts...I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis a few months ago. I'm 54, post menopausal, small frame....I have a special condition that keeps me from treating this the way I would like. I have one copy of Factor V Leiden so I can't do HRT, and I'm hesitant with large doses of Vitamin K. I am now taking Garden of Life Raw Calcium. I break open the capsules into a smoothie and take 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening. It has K2 MK7 which from what I'm read is essential to get the calcium into the bone and causes less of a risk than Vitamin K1. I have never had a blood clot and am not on blood thinners. I also have been taking a tablespoon of Great Lakes Collagen in my smoothie as well. Another issue I have is swallowing pills so that makes things really difficult. I try to open up any capsules and mix them in liquid. I really don't want to take the medications for this condition, the side effects don't look so good.

Any advice I could get would be so much appreciated

I posted this in the supplement section, but thought it might be more appropriate in this section
