Done all the standard tests, all within range. Im a healthy 29 year old and yet:
1. Constant low grade fatigue. I do workout but don't seem to get great benefit from it, at least not consistently.
2. Reduced hedonic tone. I'm a bit of a zombie really. Feels like low dopamine because I have trouble focusing and getting things done.
3. Low chronic pain. Mainly manifests as lower back pain. It's no big deal but it's a mild annoyance when I sit all day.
What works:
Vitamin D turbodoses. At times, this clicks. Motivation is great, depression gone, pain gone. Obviously has serious side effects (a few days of this and I'm battling hypercalcemia).
Genetics involve the usual methylation thing but I hate folate, it makes me into a zombie. Other Bs are within range.
ALSO have DAOA mutation which from what I understand leads to NMDA dysfunction. Thus:
I'm an excellent responder to Piracetam for the cognitive aspects but it puts my brain into an annoying overdrive. Definitely not something I can use long term.
Things like magnesium actually make me feel worse. So does glycine- activates NMDA which leads to cognition boosts but ups the pain. Oddly these are on opposite ends of the NMDA spectrum. Calcium interestingly has mild positive effects but many here caution against. And even if I successfully target NMDA I can't seem to get the motivation benefits I get on piracetam.
Thoughts anyone, I'm getting desperate of late. And I know this is pretty warped.
