I'll avoid naming brands, but I recently picked up some of this (half brain / half liver). From new zealand cows and freeze dried. Has great reviews and just generally sounds interesting. No nutrition facts listed though.

Just curious to hear your guys' thoughts

Are you absolutely 100% sure there’s no chance of any mad cow in those brains?

Because eating brain that contains prions is a great way to get mad cow disease.

What benefit do you hope to obtain by eating brain tissue?

The nutrients from it? I have post concussion syndrome.

not sure why I'm being downvoted when new zealand has never had a case of mad cow disease

anyway, I'll stop after this bottle

New Zealand has never had a case of Mad Cow but there is some evidence they may have scrapie in their sheep population (and you can apparently cross infect between sheep and cattle) and mounting evidence that prion disease can occur spontaneously in all of these animals.

However, the risk is very low.  In the US there are only about 350 CJD cases per year, so your chances of dying from that disease are very very low.  That said, for me personally I'd want some research to back up the benefit before I went down that path.

Fair enough...when you have post concussion syndrome you can get kind of desperate. I will avoid re-ordering and hope I don't die of mad cow in 10 years

I mean honestly people have been eating brains for literally millenia or longer

And NZ never adopted the insane practices of feeding cows to cows

I wouldn't worry too much about it, but at the same time I wouldn't eat any more. But thats just me.

The supplement company claims to do rigorous testing and it's one of the most well-reviewed supplements i've ever seen on amazon...Hope you guys can understand that things get a little desperate when you're still not at 100% two years after a concussion.
