Maternal Nicotinamide Riboside Enhances Postpartum Weight Loss, Juvenile Offspring Development, and Neurogenesis of Adult Offspring

Clumsy title, but pretty impressive benefits shown, imo.

adding NR to normal chow (NC) solely in the 21 days in which new mouse and rat mothers are co-housed with pups produces a series of profound effects on maternal metabolism and juvenile development, which result in persistent physical, neurobehavioral, and neurodevelopmental advantages to the adult offspring of NR-supplemented mothers

Offspring of NR-supplemented mothers have multiple behavioral advantages, which include decreased anxiety-like behavior, resistance to the onset of behavioral immobility, improved spatial memory, and enhanced motor learning and performance

a new mother’s metabolism and maternal functions can be enhanced by increasing her systemic NAD synthesis, thereby conferring long-lasting advantages to her offspring.

But the dosages are stupendously huge :

"supplemented with 3 g/kg NR chloride (NR)"

that is quite impressive. I recently posted this one showing also positive impact on offspring (injecting NR in chicken eggs):

https://www.feedstuf...growth-chickens

“The thing that is interesting to us is that the response is fairly consistent,” Gonzalez said, noting that muscle mass increased by as much as 35% in the birds included in this study. “We’ve had different-sized eggs, we’ve had lots of eggs and we’ve run it four times, and we’ve had the same response each time.”

@able I think the dosing is not 3g/kg bodyweight but 3 gram NR in 1kg of food.

Ah, good point.  That makes sense.  Thats a relief they didn't need to stuff them with 10x the usual test dosage

Link doesn’t work for me?

If true this could be ground breaking for pregnant women especially those trying in their 30s

These super-rodents will destroy us all!

Seriously, rats don't have to wait on the FDA, and they can use the university AIs... to an AI, not that much difference between a rat and a ground-ape... the AI is going to rewrite the DNA, throw out the old retrovirus and fit all the real genes on Chromosome One, get rid of the spliceosome system... might as well start out with a rat. They're more evolved in most cellular respects, they've had more generations.
