Have anyone of you heard about the idea that radiation in low doses could be beneficial for your health?
For exampel it has been found that workers at nuclear submarines, powerplants and and radiologist are more healthy then other cathegories of people.
Do you maybee have any more information about this?

google radiation hormesis.

Yes, well known phenomena. THere is data to back this up. Scientists extrapolate the low end of the dose response curve--which is fine and PC but does not match reality.

Theory I've heard is that low dose radiation induces DNA repair enzymes.

I'm asking about submarine worker and radiologist health in particular. Just because you sounded like you have a ref at hand and could save me some time searching.

John,

I only have a tiny amount of knowledge on this issue, but what I've heard would make me wonder if radiologists would be a good example of this both because their exposure occurs in lumps rather then some small constant background and because some radiologists get large amounts e.g. interventional radiologists. Just a guess though.

Actually, I practice Radiation Hormesis and help others do it. It works! I've done alot of research and have many miraculous stories of it working. Everything from acid reflux to brain cancer. If you have any questions, email me. jaynighthawk@comcast.net .
