It’s been around for quite a while now and it seems to be hit and miss. I’m curious who has tried low-dose naltrexone and what was your experience? What was the reasoning, what dosage, what time, when did you notice the effects , positive, negative, etc.? Thank you

Hey John,
I dont have a clear cut answer for you regarding LDN, but since you are trying to potentiate stims I wonder if you have tried piracetam. Imo it definetely has a dopaminergic effect from the extensive using that I have done. In fact I prefer it over ritalin.

i have naltrexone so if someone wants to buy, be my guest. i dont want to take it since it can fuck with my opioid and dopamine system but maybe it can work for some of you who knows. they are in a pack of Genoa pharmacy blisters which are easy to see if they are intact so whatever you decide.

I've tried LDN a few times. Mixed results. Good for a while, then not so good, then bad. I'm what most docs would call a "difficult" patient, though, so my anecdotal experience may not be that useful.
Most recently, I tried 4.5mg before bed, in compounded caps. When I first tried it quite a few years ago, my doc suggested grinding up and dissolving 50mg tablets in water, and then starting with a low dose that way, and slowly working my way up. That worked better for me than the compounded caps.

What’s the dosage of the tabs? Typically most Pharma brands are 50mg and it’s too hard to split as LDN dosage is 1.5-4.5mg/day.

Hmmm maybe the compounded caps weren’t doses properly. I’ve read a few reviews on people who seem to get used to the dosage of LDN they are on so they switch it up to keep the results. For example let’s say you are using 2mg for a few months as your sweetspot and it becomes ineffective. You then go to 1mg for a few days, the maybe 1.5mg for a day or two, then back to your 2mg dosage.

yeh its 50mg 15 pills left. they seem real easy to cut in half to at least 25mg and try to go from there. at such doses they would last a long time though so i dont see a big problem. or, i can always ask my doc to prescribe me lower dose because they are willing. but i really dont need them unless someone else does ill help out

You can always just dissolve them in water, and then take a proportionate amount that way. For example, grind and dissolve a 50 mg tablet in 50 mL of water. Let it fully dissolve overnight before first use. Dose would then be 1 mg per mL (1.25 mg per 1/4 tsp). Store the solution in the refrig, and gently shake before use.
I took it that way for a long time; works great.

Over the past decade I've done 5mg, 0.5mg, 1.0mg, and 1.5mg nightly doses. I only noticed a minor improvement in opioid function after the 5mg tests, and this fits my expected model of opioid receptor regulation. I would suggest taking the amount necessary to notice an effect (a depression of opioid receptor activation, which I noticed within about 2 days), which will depend on the person, but for me, it was around 5mg. Excuse the impreciseness, as this is recounting my tests from about 7 years ago.

"improvement in opioid function" what does this even mean? naltrexone blocks opioid function, not improve it.

I believe the opioid system is responsible for producing endo. The science behind using “low doses” of naltrexone is to temporarily(2-3hrs) block opioid receptors which results in a negative feedback loop that increases natural endorphins around 300% which stay elevated for 16-24hrs or so( not positive on that elevation timeframe).

It can rebalance your immune system (Th1/Th2 or T1/T2) to combat autoimmune diseases. I have seen it work first hand after about 8 months. I tried to paste links but it wouldn't work

I will when I use it. I’m starting TMS therapy next week so I want to isolate each option so I know what to do I want.

I don’t think it makes a huge difference when you’re doing the low-dose thing I would just start with .5mg the first few days to play it safe then titrate.

Prompted in-part by this thread, I just tried another round of LDN (4.5mg caps). I only lasted 3 days this time. Still doesn't agree with me any more -- too stimulating, and 12+ hours after dosing, it leaves a light head buzz feeling that I find very unpleasant. Almost no pain relief, which is the main thing I was hoping for.
I tried 1.5mg last time around, and had a pretty similar response.
Oh well.

Hi owtsgmi, I am interested in the info you try to provide us with & you are more than 162 posts away from being a new comer but I can't help proposing you try using the 'link posting' option in the posting window. It always works for me :
