can decreasing BDNF help anxiety?

since BDNF activates the NMDA receptors which causes glutamine release, what if you had something that decreased/blocked BDNF which could help with anxiety problems? We know as people get older their BDNF production decreases and they have less anxiety, im sure this is just 1 peice of the puzzle.

Perhaps because they don't exercise as much?

or perhaps it is just better to use a NMDA antagonist like memantine?

I'd say it's quite the opposite, as you get older you are more prone to anxiety and paranoia exactly because of decrease in BDNF. Which is why exercise is good for well-being and longevity. That is, provided you don't over-exert and get the proper nutrition to replenish your body.

nvm dont think bdnf etc increase anxiety
