Hey guys,

So the internal debating is over, I ordered two bottles of NMN sublingual from Alive by nature. I also re-ordered my favorite Resveratrol brand from Revgenetics because Dr. Sinclair strongly advises to take them together.

But my question is, when? Morning? Afternoon? With food? Without food?

How far away should I take it from the other 30 or so supplements I take daily?

Any known interactions to be avoided?

I taken NMN sublingual varying from 125mg tablet to nearly a gram powder.  I used it for exercise performance, so normally I took it before 200-500mgs and during, 125mg tablets. If you take it otherwise, I would take it away from food, either 15 min before/after, elsewise you'll just be swallowing most of it, rather than sublingual. As far as your other supps, once they're in the stomach, probably doesn't matter. No interaction I know off, or have experienced, regardless of dose.

How long do you plan on taking this sublingual NMN for?

Thanks Oakman, do you take a lot of other supplements? And have you taken this alongside a quality Resveratrol?

Yes I do many supps a day, every day. I was taking the 'Sinclair Protocol' including 100% trans-R and NMN earlier this year, but are not presently.  Very hard to assign cause and effect.

What exactly do you mean?

Did the 'Sinclair Protocol' doing anything helpful, or is it just his imaginative idea of substances that may help us in some way? I didn't have any health epiphany from my experience using it, perhaps his experience has been different.

Please do not say such things without references or sources to why you make a statement against all other public works on the supplement.

Did you supplement it synergistically with Resveratrol? That is what he recommends most.

Yes, I took R & NMN together, but not metformin or statins that Dr Sinclair takes, as they require prescriptions.

Would you consider adding Metformin to the mix?

IF so/not, why?

I don't have a condition that a doctor would prescribe it to me for, and regardless it seems to have some notable side effects. So instead I take Berberine (500 mg am/pm) and Silymarin (125 mg am/pm) based on these, and other results I found:

Berberine and Metformin for Longevity

and

Meta-analysis supports berberine-silymarin combination for cardiometabolic health

I plan on cycling 6 wks on 6 wks off. It seems the end result is pretty much similar, and I'm esp. interested the the cholesterol improvements, but longevity improvements are always welcomed.

Interesting, I have never seen either of these Merformin Alternatives discussed here. Dr. Sinclair seems to swear by the latter though and says it has very little if any drawback.

Learn something every day I guess. As I remember what he did say is that he has a condition that requires Metformin since childhood. If he is prescribed it, why would he seek alternatives?

Oh in my research on Dr. Sinclair I have missed that tidbit of information. I did not know he required it. I wonder what his condition is.

What is the strength of the research on Berberine?

@theFountain Are you taking the Citrus Bergamot due to an issue with glucose or cholesterol? Also which brand are you taking and what dosage?

I do not really have any cholesterol issues. My Last total cholesterol was 237, but my HDL was 75 whereas my trigs were down to 60. Which seems like a fine reading for somebody doing keto or primal.

I take Jarrow formula 500 mgs to prevent and maybe lower it a little more. As this last reading was when I had just started taking it.

My A1c is about 4.9 so nothing there either. Non-fasting glucose measured at 97.

Back to my original question though, what about berberine with bergamot?
