In the  past I've used pharmaceutical grade effervescent NAC tablets. This time I've decided to buy 100g pure NAC powder from a supplment shop.

But 1g dissolved in water seems to create a very acidic solution. Drinking it makes my teeth very sensitive even if I drink pure water afterwards.

Simply dump that stuff and buy the more costly NAC from the drugstore again?

Can baking natron be used to make the ph of that stuff better suited and mix it in a smoothy?

Here in Sweden it's since a few years a prescription medication for mucosal regulation e.g. in chronic bronchitis.  They are in the form of effervescent tablets to dissolve in water, the main non-active ingredients (at least in one variant) are sodium hydrogen carbonate, and water-free sodium carbonate.

Thanks!

It seems 600mg NAC have to be mixed with ~0,5g baking soda if I did the calculation right.

Probably should check that theory with PH test strips first. ;)
