Hi

Hope ok to post here, I don't know which forum to use for this question so figured lifestyle and exercise was the closest.

It's a question about colder temperatures and the longevity benefit there is supposed to be.  During winter it would be easy to subject oneself to the cold by not having the heating on, but I'm seeking clarity about how the cold can aid longevity.  There are other theories that the cold can cause blood to clot and trigger heart attacks or strokes.  It can also cause coronary narrowing, if only temporarily.  That to me is potentially irritating the coronary arteries which may lead to more furring up.  Yet the cold is supposed to aid longevity.

Does anyone have thoughts on this?

By far, the best source of information on this is this thread

Thanks Iporuru

I will read that.  Another thought occurred to me that I have read studies that have shown that keeping mice warm slows down cancer growth..........But I'll read the thread  :-)

Take a look on Youtube at the Wim Hof method if you haven't already. His breathing method is extremely relaxing and makes it easier to take a cold shower while relaxing your breathing. If this helps for longevity I don't know but it sure feels that way :-D .

I believe there is a Joe Rogan podcast regarding this topic, at least the benefits of cold showers.
