I want to do a psychological research project on the role of terror management[1] in the advertisement of physical immortality. As I have argued elsewhere[2], I believe that terror management is a primary reason for the particular indifference that people show when they are directly confronted with the idea of physical immortality. Advertisement that is well adapted to the peculiar psychology of terror management might make a big difference.

We will design and carry out experiments to explore this possibility. Eventually, important guidelines for advertisers of immortalitst and transhuman thought can be derived from our results. A multitude of experiments on terror management is available in the literature that may serve as inspiration and reference point.

I am looking for cooperation with someone experienced in the design and conduct of psychological experiments. Access to proband groups and psychological analysis software would be extremely advantageous. Psychology student would be fine, maybe you can even receive credit from your university for this.

About myself:
I am studying biochemistry in the 4th year. I live in Germany but I'm on exchange at the University of Queensland, Brisbane until late July. The possibility to meet in person would be cool, but I think not absolutely required. If you believe that you can and want to do this, please contact me at: Zauberkugel@yahoo.com
